Report: Final Cost of Obamacare Website Tops $1 Billion

The principal contractors responsible for the federal government's troubled health insurance website say the Obama administration shares much of the responsibility for snags that have crippled the system.

Executives of CGI Federal, which built the federal HealthCare.gov website serving 36 states, and QSSI, which designed the part that verifies applicants' income and other personal details, testified Thursday before the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Meanwhile, figures released Thursday say the total cost of the deeply flawed website and healthcare exchange has topped $1 billion, according to a devastating new report by a widely respected government analyst.

How? A surge in government spending on the Obamacare exchanges before they went live pushed the price paid to top government contractors over the $1 billion mark, The Hill reported, quoting the new study.

The report released Thursday by Bloomberg Government analyst Peter Gosselin says that federal spending ramped up in the months leading up to Oct. 1, with $352 million of the $1 billion in federal contracts to the top 10 Obamacare contractors awarded during this time.

Amazing how just a few weeks ago we had all these histrionic doofuses like McCain and Peter King publicly lashing out at Ted Cruz for fighting Obamacare, telling us how we were going to lose the House in 2014, etc... and now all the ‘Rats are fleeing the sinking Obamacare ship.

I wonder who in the Administration or their supporters is pocketing all this money? The old Axiom of “Follow The Money” comes into play big time here. I smell the fingers of Valerie Jarrett involved in the selection of contractors. This lady is going to suddenly be amazingly wealthy when this administration leaves ofice. Not bad for a Chicago girl born in Iran.

Final? Unless the "best and brightest" being brought in to repair this Titanic are working for free I have a feeling that $1 billion is nowhere close to the final amount.

No website in the world costs nearly that much. Somebody needs a timeout in prison.

PING lists ALERT !

It time for us FReepers to request that Senators Cruz (TEXAS) and Lee (Utah), and Rep. Barton (TEXAS) file an INJUNCTION with Justice Scalia of the SCOTUS for a one year and one month delay of further implementation of the failed Mandatory Insurance Tax Federal Law commonly called Obama’care !’

BTW, Rep. Barton in a House hearing stated that HIPPA Federal Law is violated by the no privacy policy of The Mandatory Insurance Tax Federal Law commonly called Obama’care.’

If we are to continue to be a “Nation of Laws,” then this Legal conflict requires resolution by the SCOTUS.

Thanks for the heads-up. Another one of Ohaha's cockamamie wealth-redistribution plans. This needs to go viral:

Toni Townes-Whitley, Senior Vice President at "CGI Federal" for Civilian Agency programs, is Princeton Class of 1985---same dumbed-down class as Michelle Obama. Both are members of Association of Black Princeton Alumni.

=================================================

NOTE CGI, the designer of the Obamacare website and computer system, is the parent company of Stanley, Inc.

At the latter two employees, along with an employee of Analyst Corp, were investigated WRT State Dept passport breaches involving passports of Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and Barack Obama.

who is pocketing all this money?

Perhaps relatives, distant relatives, inlaws, friends, cronies, etc.

I’ve read a few designers that say they could have brought in a working, secure system for around $10 million. Maybe that is braggadocio, but it does make me think a $100 million should have been sufficient. The rest has gone to Obama’s street urchins from ACORN.

Its a website. Couldn’t cost $2 million.

So, where did the other $998 million go?

Fear not. Your overlords have provided for their golden years.

the total cost of the deeply flawed website and healthcare exchange has topped $1 billion,

For libtards and keynesians government spending is an end in itself and good for the economy even if it is worthless and a waste.
