Cuccinelli, McAuliffe Jab, Spar at Virginia Gov. Debate

Cuccinelli charged that a Medicaid expansion supported by McAuliffe in Virginia will trigger the kind of government incompetence that the Obama administration's federal healthcare website has clearly illustrated, Politico reported. ....

"Just this week he refused to say whether he supported reopening government," McAuliffe said, The Washington Post reported.

Cuccinelli pushed back: "Terry not only supported Obamacare, he didn't think it went far enough. Can you imagine?"

The election comes down to "a simple question," McAuliffe said. "Who will work with both parties to focus on jobs and education?"

But gun control came up twice during the hour-long debate held at Virginia Tech, where 32 people were killed by a gunman in 2007.

Cuccinelli defended the rights of gun owners, saying tougher laws would not have prevented the massacre, reported WRC-TV, an NBC affiliate in Washington.

McAuliffe insisted government has a role in keeping people safe, and tougher laws, such as expanded background checks, could help the effort. "Some people should not own guns,'' he said, Politico reported.

"My opponent likes to say I got an F from the NRA," he added. "I don't care what grade I got from the NRA. As governor, I want to make sure our communities are safe."

McAuliffe also came out swinging on social issues, saying Cuccinelli has supported a so-called "personhood" amendment that would outlaw the most common forms of birth control. He chastised Cuccinelli for "bullying" the Board of Health to tighten rules for abortion clinics, and accused the attorney general of wanting to make it harder to obtain a divorce.

"We have got to stop this attack on women," McAuliffe said. "We've got to stop this attack on gay Virginians. We can't put walls up if we're going to grow."

I read ‘Cooch’ is 20 points behind. Who is his campaign manager? Someone bankrolled by the Dems or Bloomberg? This is a very able candidate, but he seems to have lost the momentum. The final debate has already happened.
Short of a duel, I don’t know what a potent game changer at this point would be. Does his opponent ever send his photograph to people who have not requested it, like some other people did? Maybe there will be a “I am not a witch” moment for McAuliffe to wrestle with.

I hope Cuccinelli can pull this out, but it’s late in the game. I can’t stomach the idea of that slimeball McAuliffe in the governor’s office.

What’s with this war on women meme again? And who is attacking gay Virginians? How in the sam hill do liberals get away with such pablum as intelligent discussion of the issues???

Or do liberals have no issues, so they try to scare girls and the homosexual community that the evil GOP makes their lives miserable??? And that only voting for a good Democrat will make their lives complete?????

The election comes down to "a simple question," McAuliffe said. "Who will work with both parties to focus on jobs and education?"

Many of us do not think that jobs and education are the only or primary issues. The question is which candidate supports Americans?

McAuliffe and his Democrat handlers:

support the killing of babies (avoids responsibility and is cheaper),

disrespect and insult our WWII veterans, and our Vietnam War veterans, and you

closed the open air monuments and parks

refuse to follow the precedent of using the regular order appropriations process to keep our government open (Senate has produced no budget for five years!),

support death panels to kill old people to make health care cheaper,

blindly supports Obamacare and other legislation without even reading the law,

use IRS, NSA, EPA and other government agencies to selectively punish their enemies: You

created SWAT teams at EPA and other government agencies to punish you

believe that men and women are interchangeable

support policies contrary to science, biology, economic theory, and natural law.

believe in higher taxes, mindless spending, and communism.

pretend otherwise so you will elect them.

When has Democrats ever cared about jobs or education?

The Democrats care about government jobs paid for by you. The Democrats care about education as long as you pay for it by means of increased taxes and bail outs for student loans. They care as long as it is your money, not theirs.

This has to be the most negative campaign I’ve ever seen. If campaign ads are to be believed both major candidates are evil nasty people with no right to public office. Neither candidate has mentioned what they intend to do.
