They were prohibited from owning swords IIRC. A pencil can be a deadly weapon with a knowledge of anatomy, and practice. Parts of our culture are so sheltered from violence, they really don’t have a clue when it knocks on the door. And they are one hurricane...earthquake...etc. from finding out the truth.
