Daughter: McCain 'Depressed, Down-Trodden' by State of GOP (Like father, like Daughter)
newsmax ^ | 10/27/13 | Sandy Fitzgerald

Sen. John McCain's daughter says the tea party revolution within the Republican Party has left him in a state of emotional distress.

"I’ve never heard him this depressed other than maybe after the ‘08 election," Meghan McCain said. "He’s so depressed, so down-trodden. The way he’s talking about it, he's never seen it this bad in his 30-plus years in office."

Meghan, who describes herself as a liberal Republican, said she shares his sense of despondency.

"We’re both frustrated with the idea that only the hyper-conservative wing of the party is going to represent the masses,” said McCain, 29, who spoke to ABC News about her father and her reality show, "Raising McCain." The senator's daughter also said she was surprised by Arizona's senior senator recent comments that, at 77 years of age, he is considering another run for the Senate — but not because of his age.

"My father has more energy than I do and I legitimately say that, so it’s not his age, it's just the idea of having another dirty tea party election," she said.

But she says she has no intentions of ever trying to fill her father's shoes or run for any public office.

"Women have to give up so much to run for office, which maybe makes me a hypocrite, because I think more women should be in office," McCain said. "I always say, I want more tattoos and I don’t plan on getting married anytime soon so I think those two things might automatically make me not eligible for running for office."

"We’re both frustrated with the idea that only the hyper-conservative wing of the party is going to represent the masses,” said McCain, 29."

Someone needs to explain to this twit that when a political philosophy "represents the masses" that philosophy is, indeed, mainstream. It is she who is in the extreme.

Gee I hope he isn’t suicidal. /s/

As for the daughter she is really sharp as a tack, she wants more tattoos.

They both need to go away.

When John McCain is gone the only one missing him will be his buddy Harry Reid.

The old loser needs to be involuntarily committed. His useless, brain-deficient daughter needs to shut her fat pie hole and become a hermit.

How about all the people who are depressed from the loss of freedom caused by his actions in the senate? Or the rather large debt he has allowed to grow while in the senate. He really has nothing too be depressed about, but the MASSES that he has enslaved do.

John McCain needs to go home and help his wife spend all the money she inherited from Daddy. It would be good practice for all career politicians to spend their own money for a change instead of tax-payer money.

"We’re both frustrated with the idea that only the hyper-conservative wing of the party is going to represent the masses,”

"The masses." Revealing choice of words, kid. Who taught you that? Your old man? So, it's not "the American people." It's the proles. The great unwashed and unsophisticated? Please go away, kid. Just stop talking, and disappear. Take your old man with you.

“don’t plan on getting married”? Yeah, just maybe we’ll not have another generation of these bubble headed, 98 IQ creatures to plague our descendents.

... the idea that only the hyper-conservative wing of the party is going to represent the masses,”

Spoken like a true BIG government socialist ... the "masses"?!And who 'represents' them?! We represent ourselves just fine and we're with Ted Cruz!

Ted Cruz gets his power the Constitutional way ... from "We The People". This is what really frustrates you McQueegs. The People have rejected you and your losing brand of weak moderation.

You, and your batsh*t crazy father, are the hyper ones ... hyper-socialist. Be gone.

FTA - ". . . he's never seen it this bad in his 30-plus years in office."

"30 plus years" in office is part of the reason he needs to go. The other is, Juan is just an arrogant POS. He has long ago worn out any additional lee-way earned from his service to our country.

On the merits, he needs to just go away and stop doing damage to our country. He really should be ashamed of himself.

And Meghan, dear Meghan . . . we'd love to miss you honey, but you just won't go away!. as Grandma would say, with a little twinkle in her eye, "Bless her heart".

Meghan can take comfort in the fact that her Dad played an out-sized role in making the GOP irrelevant.

Y-e-s-s-s. Nails it but good.

IMHO, the tipping point was 2008 McCain actually defending his opponent Obama on the campaign trail.

A notorious obnoxious scene was McC demeaning a Republican on broadcast TV b/c she said a discouraging word about Democrat Obama.

All-out for Obama---as if the short lisping incoherent Senator was Democrat campaign manager.

McCain also allowed himself to be hog-tied by parasitic neocons----their presence made his grossly mismanaged campaign an atrocity to most observers.

But not to worry---McC will suck it up and get happy at those Las Vegas prostitute parties he frequents.
