Santorum Bashes Cruz: He Did More Harm (Ricky outted as just a pro life lib estab)
Breitbart ^ | 10-27-13 | Staff

Posted on 10/27/2013 10:03:01 AM PDT by C. Edmund Wright

Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press, former Pennsylvania Senator and 2012 presidential candidate Rick Santorum bashed Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), saying that Cruz’s crusade against Obamacare had ben counterproductive. “I would say in the end, he did more harm. I think it was not his objective," Santorum said.

He continued: "I think his objective was a laudable one. I think he didn't do a very good job of planning it out. I think it's one thing to have a goal and another thing to have a plan to get you to that goal…Unlike the Democratic party who has a leader, has the president, there isn't a leader in the Republican Party right now. That's part of the problem. That's part of the mess and the confusion. But that's always the way it is with a party out of power. You have lots of different faces and those faces, as we've seen, they come and they go."

the GOP-e desperately ran another Republican in the general election, trying to siphon enough votes off Reagan to re-elect Carter.

Then to hedge their bets they foisted Bush as Reagan's VP, ensuring the return of the old guard once Reagan was out of office.

I use the term “pro life liberal” to make a point. Is RS a liberal? No. But he gets credit for being this great conservative simply because he is very vocal on a few social issues, when his non social record is spotty at best.

Not a liberal, but on non social issues, a moderate at best....and on issues of the estab versus the insurgents, very unreliable......now all those who say Specter was a long time ago have no where to hide.

Santorum has shown himself to be petty and jealous at times.

Yup.

In Ricky's mind he thinks 2016 is his turn. NBC knows this. So who better to invite on to trash Cruz.

And Ricky gives NBC what they wanted.

And NBC knows that Santorum would get crushed like a bug, just like Romney in the general election....So build him up now.

He played the same roll for Romney that Fred Thompson played for McCain.

Never did trust the little sweater wearing punk to start with.

Read what he said.

Basically, he said that Cruz was right to oppose Obamacare, but didn’t choose the best way to do it. I suppose that’s arguable, but in actuality all Cruz did was to draw attention to himself as a Tea Partier. Then in the end he gave in, and was polite about giving in.

I’m certainly sorry that Rick helped that RINO traitor get re-elected. But he had his reasons, and in fact it did lead to a couple of good Supreme Court appointments that might not otherwise have been made.

I remember that you absolutely HATED Santorum, and said so at every possible opportunity, even though he was running second to Romney and might have beat Romney if the conservative vote hadn’t been split by other candidates who had no chance of winning but stayed in the race until Romney won it.

And I suspect the reason you hate him is that you think of him as a Christian—a “Bible thumper,” as you put it here—and you wouldn’t want a traditional-minded conservative Christian in office if it can possibly be prevented.

Don’t watch “Meet The Opressors” all that one can respond to is the this one paragraph Britebart tease.

Not a good move on Santorums part. He should have been slamming the 2012 campaign because they left Obamacare untouched.

Also what Cruz critics, and Santorum isn’t alone on this, should be doing is questioning why the problems with the rollout of the webnsite wasn’t known before or during the so called “shutdown”. Pointing out if that were known the Cruz/Lee effort might have been successful.

And that’s one of the talking points that should be comming from the Central Committee.

No, what I despise are self righteous pharisaical jerks like you...and RS. What I have no time for are people too blind to see when a candidate is simply not talented and not smart and not electable...and playing them for fools by playing the Bible card.

I would very much like a Christian in office, but what's very much more important is to have someone in office that will allow me to live out my faith unimpacted by government. RS is a big gov conservative, and had zero chance of being elected. It's his sheep supporters that aggrevate me, not the man himself .

Santorum is a has been, had no chance in the last primary and some of us knew that. The ultimate was someone who was voting for him because of his daughter. Good grief, FReepers, as well as the rest of the country, better pull their heads out of their back end, OR FORGET IT. To be honest with you, from the comments I read here and elsewhere, I think we are going to have more of the same. Is anyone capable of putting our country over their pet issues?

I think Levin is great, but he loves Bob Beckel, his good friend. To him, Beckel is the Alcoholic with a heart of gold, even Hannity thinks so.

I know Liberals, but I’m not friends with Liberals. I’m sure they feel the same way about me. Difference is, I would never steal from them by Proxy.

I am delighted that Rick Santorum took the occasion on MTP thismorning, to show “the folks” how truly bitter and jealous he is of Senator Ted Cruz.

Senator Ted Cruz is one in a century, so there’s no way that Rick Santorum can compete with him. Best for Santorum to chuck all future political plans he may be contemplating for another run at the nomination in 2016. That ship sailed in 2012. He lost to squishy Romney, so he’s definitely not going to best the likes of Ted Cruz, particularly after his snarky words this morning.

You seem to be blind to the fact that Rick Santorum is nothing but a big-government Social Conservative.

He is only half the package where conservatism is concerned, and as conservatives, I'd dare say that most of us are through with half-measures as it is what the GOP has used to control and manipulate us for years now and as a result, we have Obama.

Amen! There were a few Santorum fellators on here that were/are beyond reason.

Santorum is a LOSER who got blown out in his last race by a foe with the intellect and personality of a fern.

Santorum sucks, period.
