Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said while ObamaCare is not dead yet, conservative Republicans are not done beating on it either.
We nearly killed ObamaCare, King said at the annual Defenders of Freedom event in Le Mars, Iowa Saturday afternoon. Its not dead yet, but were not done beating on it either.
Back in 2010, he recalled, before Congress passed the healthcare law and Nancy Pelosi was driving ObamaCare at us, he was pheasant hunting in Iowa.
How do we defeat this onslaught that is Obamacare? he asked his hunting partners.
Vietnam prisoner of war survivor, Col. George Bud Day, who was there, said, call everybody to the Capitol, jam the Capitol, surround the place, get so many people out, or in, they wont be able to do any business, theyll have to give up.
After the House voted on the bill, lawmakers fled Washington, King said.
We have to kill ObamaCare, how do we do it, Rep. Michele Bachmman (R-Minn.) asked King as they walked down the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
I said well, the only thing I know is surround the Capitol. Dont let anybody, dont anybody out! King responded.
The congressman spent Saturday hosting Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). They first went pheasant hunting, and then the freshman senator headlined the Defenders of Freedom event.
King praised Cruz for his recent efforts to bring down Obamacare, which led to the 16-day government shutdown.
This soldier said I will charge the hill, and I hope you follow, but Im going.
This is a dead horse that should be beaten for quite a while.
attaboy Steve! God bless and keep you.
Iowa sends a solid guy like this to the House, but might actually elect Bruce Braley to the senate?
Beat it until it’s dead.
Bttt
Credibility: Destroyed.
I think you have got the wrong King.
“THIS is what happens when government tries to do a one-size-fits-all shoehorning on America. It didn’t work, it can’t work, and it will NEVER work.
You want alternatives? How about get out of the way and let the private sector take care of the problem?”
Quite a while: The next 50 years or more. The Dems still beat on Hoover.
