Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) will meet with President Obama at the White House on Tuesday to discuss immigration reform.

Diaz-Balart is a key House Republican on the issue, and earlier this year had been working with lawmakers from both parties on a comprehensive House bill.

Other lawmakers are also expected to attend the meeting, though the precise guest list is unclear.

Obama has sought to pump up the pressure on Republicans over immigration, and won a small victory this week with Rep. Jeff Denham's (R-Calif.) decision to cosponsor a House immigration reform bill backed by Democrats.

For those FReepers who think Republicans don’t try to work with fanatical Democrats, here you go. This effort to compromise with Obama will end with Republicans doing all the compromising, because Democrats don’t compromise, and when Republicans refuse to sign onto Obama’s nonsense, he and all his Obamaphiles will scream about Republicans not working with him.

They will also nearly TRIPLE the number of annual H1B visas for foreign IT workers.

This is what they really want: to continue having no reason for US citizens to learn IT.

Balart is House Gang of Eight. He's also a member of the Hispanic Leadership Network.

The Hispanic Leadership Network was created in January 2011 by American Action Network. Key members include executive director Jennifer Korn, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, former United States Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and former United States Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez.

Hispanic Leadership Network co-chair Carlos Gutierrez created the SuperPAC Republicans for Immigration Reform.

Hispanic Leadership Network “partners” are American Action Forum and American Action Network

Board Members of the American Action Forum:
Fred Malek, Chairman, Forum Board and Chairman, Thayer Lodging Group
Senator Norm Coleman, Of Counsel, Hogan Lovells US LLP
James Barksdale, Chairman and President, Barksdale Management Corporation
Peter Bell, Former Chairman, Metropolitan Council
Governor Jeb Bush, President, Jeb Bush and Associates
Elaine Chao, 24th Secretary of Labor
Wendy Grubbs, Managing Director, Global Government Affairs, Citi
Bobbie Kilberg, President, Northern Virginia Technology Council
Lauren Maddox, Principal, The Podesta Group
Governor John R. McKernan, Chairman, Education Management Corporation
Billy Pitts, President, Capitol BrainTrust
Governor Tom Ridge, President and CEO, Ridge Global LLC
Bob Steel, former President and CEO, Wachovia
Sara Martinez Tucker, former Under Secretary, U.S. Department of Education

Launched in February 2010, American Action Network is a conservative 501(c)(4) group chaired by Norm Coleman, a Republican former senator from Minnesota. The group reported spending more than $18.9 million in the 2010 congressional elections, targeting dozens of Democratic House and Senate candidates. Because it is a 501(c)(4), it is not required to release the names of its donors. American Action shares office space with Crossroads GPS/American Crossroads, one of the largest outside spending networks, which has ties to GOP operative Karl Rove. As a nonprofit organization, it does not disclose the donors to its outside spending efforts.

Facebook founder Zuckerberg paid for the ad run by Americans for a Conservative Direction. The ads used talking points developed by the Hispanic Leadership Network.

FWD.US is an organization started by key leaders in the tech community to promote policies to keep the United States and its citizens competitive in a global economy—including comprehensive immigration reform and education reform. (http://www.fwd.us/about_us)

Their list of supporters is a who's who of tech companies. (http://www.fwd.us/our_supporters)

In May FWD.us began running ads the immigration bill pushed by the so-called Senate “Gang of 8.” Politico reports that Americans for a Conservative Direction will spend over $1 million to push the ad in states including Texas, Florida, Iowa, and Kentucky. Another group running ads is the American Action Network. The American Action Network was founded by Fred Malek, National Finance Committee co-chair of John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. AAN created the American Action Forum and the Hispanic Leadership Network. These groups share office space with the Karl Rove affiliated Crossroads GPS/American Crossroads.

These groups have overlapping leadership and membership.

The Hispanic Leadership Network developed the "Earned legal status", and "undocumented immigrant" talking points.
