Former Illinois Representative Jesse Jackson Jr., once one of the most promising black politicians in the United States, reported to federal prison on Monday to begin serving a 2-1/2 year sentence for misusing campaign funds, according to a family spokeswoman.

Jackson, a former Democratic representative and the son of civil rights leader the Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr., entered a federal correctional facility in Butner, North Carolina, family spokeswoman Bunnie Jackson-Ransom said in a statement.

"I am happy to report that he is in good spirits, all things considered," said North Carolina Representative G.K. Butterfield, who accompanied Jackson to the prison, according to the statement.

He'll be out in time to run for something next year.

Only next time he will be a "victim" of the system, and will win whatever he runs for.

At least, when his old man comes to visit it’ll be nice having them both in jail for a while.

There is no parole in the federal system for offenses committed after 01 November 1987.

Pardon me but I have been there to visit...and one of my best pals did his bit there in the medium in the 90s

It’s medical unit is for mental cases and its fenced...double actually with around 20 strands of concertina and electric

And two towers last I looked

Bug units are not fun....unless...shite eaters and compulsive masturbators....are your thing....I bet Jackson is there....he’s cracked....looks it anyhow

Federal prison camps are not Cool Hand Luke but they are not like you think

Average sentence in most is around 6-9 years with no parole and contrary to legend most have fences

No pools and no tennis courts and prisoners must work

The only difference between an FPC and FCI is average time of sentence and no controlled movement on the yard between recall and count times....8Am.....4pm.....10pm.....and little ones here and there

In low medium and high....FCIs....movement is from .50 to the hour for ten minutes without a pass

Federal penetentiaries like Atlanta or Terre Haute or Lewisburg.... considered maximum security....have similar movements.....but restricted between units and frequently locked down with limited yard time

The best prison camps are those on military bases mostly because one works on base and base staff are more hospitable than bureau of prisons goons....although some are decent

Like one imagines race is everything...its an affirmative action nightmare on amphetamine....lol

Not to mention inmate racial tension often fueled by staff

People think prison camps are easy.....that is a myth....or canard.

They are actually harder discipline wise than higher security and no lay ins

And....doing over a year or two bit anywhere outside a whorehouse is no fun

The rare facility with no fence....I think even Yankton has a fence now....is still being locked up

Now I know youd be happy with more rock breaking and flogging and chain gangs

That ain’t gonna happen

Feds don’t want long term prisoners on out custody even if chained

You can judge civilization by toliet paper ....prisons...and landfills

No kidding

I can give you a tour of el reno.....Atlanta...Lewisburg...jesup...Miami....otisville...Manhattan MCC....and so forth if you like

Prison is still prison

You know what’s worse than prison....an urban county jail

Prison has order

Somebody I know doing a double coffin for flying pot a bunch of times 30 years ago makes uniforms for 19 cents an hour. 64 years old and he’s going to die in prison for flying weed in the 1980s. He refused every deal, his code would not permit snitching, and he didn’t know anybody. He was no Bobby Seal, he was just a very busy pilot. Now he’s buried alive for life, for flying weed that’s not as good as what you can buy over the counter in Colorado today. He works every day he can, making uniforms, because it beats a 6X9 two-man cell.

Yep...
This administration is letting some out

Over 60

Minimum 20 years served

And no OC jacket or links to killings

Duke Olsen and John Patrone and Charles Cunningham... are 3 I know released like that from RUD sentences

About the only this the white house assclown has done I agree with
