Cornhole is already running his campaign ads. He is touting himself as the second most conservative Republican in the Senate. Somehow, I doubt those credentials.

I'm not completely up on his record, but does anyone have his voting record and issues support that he has put his name to that is less than conservative?

Cornyn is careful to vote conservatively, as demonstrated by the below ratings. However, his real inklings were made clear when he was head of the NRSC. He endorsed or funded every single moderate over every single conservative. He endorsed both Arlen Specter and Charlie Crist, both of which then became democrats. He endorsed Mike Castle. He funded Lisa Murkowski even though she wasn’t the republican nominee. He withheld funds from Sharon Angle and Ken Buck when it was most needed. Time after time, he has demonstrated himself to be a RINO in the mold of Mitch McConnell, who also has a very good and carefully contrived conservative voting record to fool the people.

Cornyn has come fast out of the gate, spending tons of money to tout his phoney conservative credentials, hoping to shock and awe any potential big name primary opponents into staying on the sidelines. These credentials are accrued by posturing, as we just saw in the ObamaCare defund battle. He votes for cloture to advance Ocare knowing that few understand that that was the key vote (and that it was not scored by the various rating organizations) and then votes against Ocare when his vote no longer matters but is scored.

Cornyn voted for cloture (against Cruz in the Senate’s Obamacare defunding vote) along with some 27 other Senate RINO’s so he should be primaried to scare some sense into him a la Rubio with immigration reform; and yes he is running ads in Texas showing him wearing an LBJ-style (ill fitting, perched on his head) cowboy hat touting his conservative credentials.
