Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is scheduled to meet with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell before NFL leaders meet with team name opponents.

A person knowledgeable about the situation said there wasn't any indication that Snyder has moved from his position against changing the team's name, the Washington Post reported Monday.

Long time Redskin fan here. Following them since the beginning of the 72 season. First Redskin/football game I saw was the first game of the 72 season on Monday night against the Vikings. Became hooked. Was glad to see some of the greats play though it was at the end of their careers. Jurgunson, Kilmer, Charley Taylor, Pat Fisher, Larry Brown, Hanburger, McDole, Talbert, on and on.

Some great games over the years. The Thanksgiving Day game with Clint Longley pulling it out of his ass. We got even last year. The final game of the 79 season, again the Cowboys destroyed our dreams. Then in 82, we beat them in the playoffs. The bodybag game. Three Super Bowls. A record 35 points in one quarter against the Broncos.

Over the last several years it has been tough being a Skins fan. Dan Snyder would charge you for the air you breath in the stadium if he could get away with it. Man, he has destroyed this once great team by treating like a fantasy club. RG III brought me back last year. Until that playoff game where Shanahan nearly let him get killed. Then the same stuff this year as the past twenty. Sad.

I make a vow right now that if they change the name from the Redskins to anything else, I will never root for them again. I will throw my hat in with the Packers.

I believe so too. The NFL isn’t calling Snyder in to talk, they are calling him in to pressure him or offer him no alternative. The decision is already made.IMO
