Dem Rep. Jumps Out of Chair, Explodes at GOP’ers During Obamacare Hearing

Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) rose from his seat on Tuesday during a congressional hearing into the Affordable Care Act’s problematic roll-out. He accused his Republican colleagues in the House of dishonestly seeking to identify the problems with the ACA because they would prefer to see it repealed entirely.

Pascrell began by insisting that, even though Democrats opposed Medicare Part D in the Bush Era, they worked to make sure that the program was a success.

He became animated as he said that Democrats put aside their opposition to Bush in order to make a policy objective work for the good of the American public. “And how many of you stood up to do that,” Pascrell said exploding out of his chair. “None. Zero.”

“What are you going to do about the approximately 17 million children with preexisting conditions who can no longer be denied health insurance coverage,” Pascrell asked his Republican colleagues. “We want to go back and want to say you are no longer covered any longer. Are you going to tell the parents of those kids?”

My oldest daughter must be an exception. She is a single parent; gets no child support from her ex-husband, her son has a life threatening illness that costs her a lot in co-pays. She has never been on government assistance and at times has had two jobs. It would have been much easier for her to go on assistance and stay there- but not what she chose to do.

Are patriots being politicked by double standards? More specifically, when GOP caves into Reid and Obama where government shutdown is concerned, then GOP is a bunch of RINOs.

But when a Constitution-ignoring Dem. attacks the Constitution-ignoring GOP, then GOP is Republican.

Bring back dueling - it would make democrats more civil.

Or they would feel empowered to beat Republicans like Democrat Preston Brooks beat Republican Charles Sumner.

When did the illnesses of someone else’s kid become a claim to the fruits of my labor?

“First, this number would mean that roughly 25% of all kids have a “pre-existing condition.”

Unfortunately, this may not be far from the truth. That many are probably popping pills after being diagnosed by “experts” as having autism, ADHD, etc. Probably 1/10 of them ACTUALLY have a real medical problem; the rest of them are just less trouble drugged up.

Mathematically, it will not work without draconian thievery from the producers of this nation. You may deny the truth, but you cannot deny the consequences of the truth.

The whole "health insurance for the poor" scheme cannot work, for one additional simple reason: the poor will continually demand access to the same level of treatment that the wealthy get, and there isn't enough money in the world to do that.

There are lots and lots of things that can be done to extend life, and as time goes by the range of things that can be done, grows ever-larger. Organ transplants, joint replacements, 24/7 nursing care for the aged -- there isn't enough money to give all that to the poor for free, and NO politician is going to tell the underclass "No, you are not worth the expense".

“Of course they did. They opposed it because Bush did it.”

And because they wanted to make it BIGGER. You cant outspend the RAT party. If the Repubs say they want to give everyone in the US a million dollars, the RATS will call them cheapskates and offer 2 million.

“DO NOT get cocky. IF (when) Obamacare goes down they come back fighting like demons for Single Payer. We had better be ready.”

Exactly. But before that they will propose a number of laws to “FIX” Obustard care. When the Repubs oppose these “fixes” the RATS and media will blame THEM for the system being broken. Amd as usual the Repubs will be caught completely by surprize and have no counter strategy.

You’re right, I should have died in a ditch.

Being laid up in a wheelchair for 18 months was certainly no reason for slackin.

After all, that is what you’re saying isn’t it? Screw those kids with pre existing medical conditions. All they’re doing is taking up your resources.

Made bad choices?? What if it wasn’t HER fault? What if she was married and her husband was killed or died suddenly through no fault of his own? Is THAT a “poor life choice”???? So this woman’s supposed to work two jobs?

And your solution is that I'm supposed to work two jobs in order to pay for her and her sisterhood? While she sits back and works NO jobs?

In the overwhelming majority of cases, the woman on welfare is there because of bad life choices that she expects us to pay for. She can get off her butt and work, or she and her spawn can die. I'm THAT fed up.

No, Sparky. We’ll let you tell the parents why you promised them something reality couldn’t deliver.

That's what happens when you make government your god. And the very sad reality is those 17 million children won't get treatment (because the parents can't pay all the deductible) anyway.

What good is a plan for the poor when the deductible is so high they can't pay it anyway?

Is he the guy who had hs followers get the moon for him?

“The grandees with the shorn heads, whom I met in great numbers in the hall, were very intelligent people, and when I exclaimed, “Gentlemen! let us save the moon, for the earth is going to sit on it,” they all set to work to fulfil my imperial wish, and many of them clambered up the wall in order to take the moon down.”

Maybe I'm wrong, but the difference between Bush's Medicare Part D and Obama's ACA is that with Bush, nobody was being thrown off of their status quo.

With Obama, people are being dropped from their current coverage with no alternatives in place, and no going back to what they had.
