I knew of a Congresscritter once who took full advantage of this so every weekend was a three day weekend back home. No missed connections for him. Apparently, they don’t work most Mondays.

I can remember when denial of these perks was once an element of The Contract With America.
Newt and the Republican House passed it in January, 1995.
