NBC/WSJ poll: Obama Approval Sinks to New Low (Personal approval under water at 41%)
NBC News ^ | Wednesday, October 30, 2013 | Mark Murray

President Barack Obama’s approval rating has declined to an all-time low as public frustration with Washington and pessimism about the nation’s direction continue to grow, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Just 42 percent approve of the president’s job performance, which is down five points from earlier this month. By comparison, 51 percent disapprove of his job in office -- tied for his all-time high.

The NBC/WSJ pollsters argue that no single reason explains Obama’s lower poll standing. Rather, they attribute it to the accumulation of setbacks since the summer -- allegations of spying by the National Security Agency, the debate over Syria’s chemical weapons, the government shutdown and now intense scrutiny over the problems associated with the health care law’s federal website and its overall implementation.

Read the full poll here (.pdf)

Those events have combined to erase some of the advantage the president gained with polls showing most Americans blame congressional Republicans for the shutdown.

And for the first time in the survey, even Obama’s personal ratings are upside-down, with 41 percent viewing him a favorable light and 45 percent viewing him negatively.

Romney got 7% of the black vote. That is 0.84 of the vote.

Is it a joke, you are trying to make?

[This poll is ALL ADULTS, not even registered voters, let alone likely voters.

So the real number is low 30s approval.]

Yeppers. Gotta wonder how the white guilt LIVs measure in here, too. They obviously vote, since we have the clown prince.

I hope I am not the first to say that NBC is obviously racist.

Everyone but Ann Coulter and me forgets that 19% of young black men voted for Mitt Romney in 2012.

Thanks for jogging my memory on that, Kristinn. I remember seeing that fact posted after the 2012 election, but had nearly forgotten it.

That one in five young black men would vote for the white Republican for president, when a black Democrat is in the White House, is an earth shattering indicator of systemic rot within the bowels of the left establishment.

She's a kid. The ones with no excuses are the older folks who should have figured it out by now, those are the real idiots.

Yep, like my beloved parents and my siblings - all of whom are over fifty years of age.

Obumbo has way too much approval, in spite of his America destroying actions. Why is that?

Like someone said upthread, 13% of the population is black, and another 21% are brain dead liberals. It's a floor that no black politician will ever sink below. Spot Obama another 7% for white guilt, and there you go -- 41% approval.

The rest of the country thinks he's the spawn of Satan.

Let me cite one example. Al Franken. The Dems needed him in office so as to pass Obamacare. So they counted & recounted the votes but still cdn’t put him on top. So they ‘found’ enough votes in the trunk of a car to put Al in office, & thus pass Obamacare. In that election, fraud made the winning difference. Unless you, AlexW, know w certitude exactly how much fraud impacted the last election, you cannot know how it reflects on the electorate. It is even possible that in a completely fair & honest election, Obama wd have lost. We just do not know.

Amen. The only reason Democrats cheat -- and they DO -- is because if they didn't, they'd lose. They'd lose for lack of votes.

Judging by the consumer comments at MSM sites from the LA Times to Yahoo, solid drive-by sites, about two thirds of Americans loathe the leftwing bias of the media, loathe Obama, and loathe what they commonly label "liberalism."

How does a little tiny dog "train" a dog twice its size, to be submissive? What disconnect is there that the big dog doesn't just swipe the little twirp?

The combination of fraudulent wins and an MSM that paints "everybody" in America as being in agreement with its own leftist bias, has the big dog -- that would be us -- letting itself be lorded over by a twirp representing a minority that cheated its way to power. A minority is trying to cede power over a majority, and the majority is kicking back. Reality is hitting the fan. It's kind of like physics.

Er, make that: A minority is trying to enforce power over a majority, and the majority is kicking back. Reality is hitting the fan. It's kind of like physics.

*sigh* You can't choose your relatives. Mom had to entertain and reunite "redneck" country sons with three first cousins, 100 percent city bred, lovely folks, but blind cold leftist liberal. Committed with fervor and "intellectual" (they think) conviction. (I'm almost glad I wasn't there). As long as politics is avoided in that crowd, things would be good.

Otherwise, explosion. Happily, politics were avoided and it went well, even though there was whisky! {^)

Hell, half of "conservatives" are liberals mugged by reality. I have a lot more faith in real Americans and their common sense. That liberal today might be a freedom warrior tomorrow.

That's gotta be painful.

The only "unchosing" I can think of was with a college roommate and very good friend who at the wise age of 18 (this was the late '70s) decided to become a full-fledged vegan. It was a political statement that it was morally wrong to exploit animals for our own existence. She had many other rationalizations (environmental, health) to justify it. The idiot has stubbornly hewed to it well into her 50s, with elaborately self-deceptive rationale.

When I saw her subject her own baby to it, her own little kid, poor starving little monkey -- he clung to her like a skinny little monkey with bleary eyes -- I had to turn away. I unchose her, and it was mutual. She had to know I'd lost all respect for her. When someone tells me they are vegan, even when they're young, they drop about five notches in my book.

Those relatives must have some loud politics for you to unchose 'em!

It's just ground in leftist indoctrination that's now too deeply embedded to extract.

They bought in at an early age, and gradually surrendered all personal responsibility and self determined ability to analyze, to a rigid dogma that requires a sort of religious faith to hold it in place.

There's no profit in trying to talk to them about politics or culture in general, unless you parrot Communist thoughts that interlock with their faux reality receptors.

You may as well be asking them to give up their god. It's a system of belief, and no amount of logic, reason, or facts are going to penetrate their minds. I don't believe as they do, therefore I've gone to the 'dark side'. It's no more complicated than that.

I've had to completely sever ties with the most ardent 'true believers' in my family. They're literally insane.

America has no long term memory.
Republicans don't beat a drum well to make voters remember how they have been screwed by Democrats and they fear rather than trying to remold the press that campaigns for Democrats.
Like a frog in water that will eventually boil, the people of America may be too far gone to do anything after the immediate earthquake in health care is done.
Obama creates a new group of victims if you don't pay for them and the middle class up and young people are made to put extra thousands a year into health care that could have made the economy thrive.

That is the other thing, with all this money diverted to health care from the family budget; look for most everything else in the economy to fail as people have no cash or no extra cash for anything (including better Xmas or birthday gifts).
Look for the economy to be the worst ever in our memory within years if this isn't repealed.
