It hasn’t been fun, but we are pushing through. I have gone from being in the arts to doing something that I never thought I could do in the sciences. Totally different lifepath.
I have met and worked with some fantastic and amazing people ~ as well as a few terrible villains. I have also helped a lot of people to get well, to live in a difficult situation or to pass from this world to the next.
I do miss my old job, but there are people that I used to work with in advertising who are the same age as me (50) who are unemployed and unemployable. They have no way of getting back to their former financial status. My kids are super; relatively happy and healthy. They have exceptional educations. I enjoy very good health. So, it is definitely not the path I would have taken, but it has been an purposeful and interesting ride.
