San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr Victim of Car Break-In

Car break-ins and thefts happen on a regular basis. But they turn heads when the victim is the police chief of San Francisco.

Greg Suhr told residents at a Marina District town hall meeting on Wednesday evening that his car was broken into and his jacket stolen a few weeks ago.

He was actually there to discuss a police shooting this month in the neighborhood that injured an armed robbery suspect awaiting trial on charges that he robbed victims who offered cash for iPhones on Craigslist.

Eventually, the topic of his own theft came up.

“I’m not immune,” Suhr told the residents.

His point? Anyone can be a victim, even the chief, said police department spokesman Albie Esparza.

Esparza did not immediately have the details of the reported burglary.

Why is this so satisfying?

It would be more satisfying if he couldn’t even get the police to take a report, just like the rest of us.

The thing that upset him most was the loss of all the photos of that romantic weekend with “Lance”.

Make sure you don’t ask for documentation.

“Why is this so satisfying?”

Just like th AA hire Chief of Police in Detroit, who is not yet even a sworn officer so he can’t even go after a suspect. In this case, the guy is probably a fudgepacker as well, but as a consequence “knows a lot about guns.”

He’s right though, cops are not immune to crime. My dad was a police officer and our house was broken into through a basement window 25 years ago, cash, jewelry and a camera gone.

Nothing inspired confidence quite like this pencil-necked Charlie Callas-lookalike, tell ya what.

“I’m not immune,” Suhr told the residents.

Sure he is, the taxpayers will be footing the entire loss, with plenty of extra reimbursement for Suhr to pocket, plus he'll get overtime for the shopping trip.

We know how things work for the ruling class.

Hey, say what you want about Heather, but remember the man she replaced. He, and the chief before him were successively forced out of office, when his son and two other off-duty officers stole fajitas from 2 people and touched off a melee, in a scandal called fajitagate. Heather never had that happen.

That would be former police chief Heather Fong. I’ve worked in and out of the Communications Room when she was a commander. Very quiet person. The last few chiefs were like that. A four decades back, the chiefs were all bark and bite, made you scared to be in their presence. No more.

Gee, all he had to do was carry a whistle and nobody would have broken into his car.

No. Only knew a half-dozen or so, back to Al Nelder. Of the recent ones, Sanders was a tough guy, and one of those involved in Fajita-gate. I am a nobody but observed a lot.
