Obama administration knew that Obamacare would disrupt private plans

Section 1251 of the Affordable Care Act contains what’s called a “grandfather” provision that, in theory, allows people to keep their existing plans if they like them. But subsequent regulations from the Obama administration interpreted that provision so narrowly as to prevent most plans from gaining this protection.

“The Departments’ mid-range estimate is that 66 percent of small employer plans and 45 percent of large employer plans will relinquish their grandfather status by the end of 2013,” wrote the administration on page 34,552 of the [Federal] Register. All in all, more than half of employer-sponsored plans will lose their “grandfather status” and become illegal. According to the Congressional Budget Office, 156 million Americans—more than half the population—was covered by employer-sponsored insurance in 2013.

The smoking gun is on pages 16 & 17 in the PDF (Federal Register pages 34552 - 34553). They knew full well that at least half would have policies canceled. They knew that you would not be able to keep your plan or your doctor. Yet they repeatedly and emphatically lied for 2-3 years.

Obama lied. Period.

It occurred to me that a possible strategy would be , for anyone receiving a previously held cancellation notice from a health insurance provider , should immediately tell them “ No Way! “ “You are NOT cancelling my policy , as I have the word of the President of the United States that if I like my policy I CAN keep it “ Stand on that . Publicize that ! Require DoJ to defend each and every cancellation notice refusal . Just say “ No ! “
Visibly tie up every cancellation letters with law suits , based on the exact words of the President. Force them not to cancel you , or face major damages and claims .

The idea of a government-run ‘exchange’ was bogus from the start. And, we in part have Mitt Romney to thank for it.

This whole ObamaCare law was written to funnel people into the exchanges and to effectively destroy the insurance industry. Obama lied to people to get their confidence and support for this bill, but like all charlatans, he lied for the "greater good" of socialism and establishing his legacy. At no time was this ever about helping people get better medical care. It is a scam and a con game to fool people into doing something they wouldn't do otherwise and that is to give up control of their own healthcare and place it in the hands of big government. This law was about the liberals cementing their life-long dreams of nationalized healthcare and that is why I think this mess was designed to collapse into chaos so they can force single payer upon us. I would not want to be under Romneycare, but it is nothing like Obamacare. The DEMS have been pushing for socialized medicine long before Mass got their stinkin’ plan. Romneycare needlessly made the health insurance ‘marketplace’ a government-run exchange. That paved the way for Obamacare, which is essentially Romneycare at the federal level, with a few misery bells attached.

It is by running so many people through Obamacare exchanges that the fed is gaining the control and information to simply nationalize healthcare. It is also the excuse they have for the biggest Democrat voter enrollment program in history (going on now).

Romney made a big show when he was guv of his supposedly big brain coming up with this brilliant solution. But of course it wasn’t his solution at all. It was the brainchild of healthcare reform ‘specialists’ who were, indeed, aiming for socialized medicine, with these exchanges as a first step.
