The USDA updated regulations to the Animal Welfare Act, they are redefining what a "retail pet store is". These rules take effect starting on November 17, it was placed in the Federal Register on September 18 of this year. The gist of it is that if you have over 4 intact females (of various species, not just dogs but cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc.) and ship at least one animal "sight unseen" as a pet you are to be USDA inspected and regulated. I have never shipped a pup, but wanted to keep the option open, however I just put a notice on my website that due to this I will not keep this option open, but as always welcome people to my home or have met people a few hours away to help with driving. There are already GOOD breeders going out of business due to this because, unlike myself, they may need to ship a few puppies out of every litter due to their location, their breed, whatever. What's funny though is in some of the Facebook groups I've seen dedicated to this, more than one breeder who was for gun control was against this happening...they don't understand how similar these things are.

I am aware of this. Unfortunately, what else is new? Collectivist tyrant states will push on all fronts until there is not resistance, but effective and existentially dangerous resistance. Then comes crackdown, then insurgency, then toppling of the State. An endless cycle of humanity.

Yes, and what’s bad is that this not only is going to greatly cut down on “pet” breeding, farm animals sold as pets are impacted as well, so it could possibly effect the food supply at some point. Big feather in the cap of animal rights activists, and of course part of the bigger picture as well.
