“on the product of sunlight, CO2, and water using a two-step thermochemical cycle”
I would like to know what the chemical reactions are here. It will take a lot of energy to unbind the Carbon, Oxygen, and Hydrogen. Good luck with the carbon. Then the products will have to be stored and then recombined in the car to make it run. What the hell is the CO2 doing in there anyway?
I know about breaking water into Hydrogen and Oxygen, and then recombining the two by combustion. A lot of energy is needed, and then the energy available for use at the end is much less than the energy required at the beginning.
So what is it doing? They can’t just throw bullroar at me and expect me to buy it.
CO2 and H2O are the natural products of burning gasoline. Converting them back to gasoline has to be an energy intensive operation.
Here’s the REAL headline:
Energy Dept. Seeks Company willing to promise the moon and money launder for the President
“Joule Unlimited” AKA “Joule Biotechnology” claims to have been doing this for a while.

I guess they’re not Obama contributors.
