On Oct. 8, 2013, the town of Campbell, Wisconsin passed an ordinance to prevent protesting on a pedestrian foot bridge that went over a highway within the city limits. The fine is $132.

Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech The petty tyrants who are taking power pretend not to understand what "shall make no law" means, and they do not respect the incorporation doctrine except as a ploy when convenient. Political protest is the form of free speech given the strongest protection under any responsible interpretation of the Bill of Rights. For the thugs to trample free speech merely to solidify power should be unacceptable to any decent person, and even to some liberals.
