Little more than a week after millions of consumers received health care cancellation notices, lawmakers in both parties are pushing legislation to redeem President Barack Obama's long-ago pledge that anyone liking their coverage will be allowed to keep it under the nation's controversial new law.

The result is a stern new challenge for the White House as it struggles to fix website woes for the signup portal for those seeking to enroll under the law, and simultaneously copes with angry consumers who rightly or wrongly blame "Obamacare" for cancellation letters mailed by insurers.

Democratic officials said top administration aides got a close-up view of the cancellation controversy last week, when Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., said at a closed-door meeting of the party's rank and file that his son had received notice his coverage was being terminated. . . .

Did Joe Donnelly explain to his son how he voted in favor of the law that took his insurance away?

Joe Donnelly’s NSA file will put a stop to this kind of talk.

“...lawmakers in both parties are pushing legislation to redeem President Barack Obama’s long-ago pledge that anyone liking their coverage will be allowed to keep it...”

Republicans shouldn’t touch this steaming pile of feces with anyone else’s 10’ pole!

Young Mr. Donnelly needs to take it up with Kathleen Sebilius. Some get insurance and some lose insurance. That’s life under the lefty boot heel.

If Donnelly's son is younger than 26, he can just go on his Pop's policy.

""A promise was made that if you like your health plan, you can keep it - and I will do everything I can to see that the promise is kept," said Landrieu, who is gearing up for what is expected to be a challenging re-election campaign next year."

It's the law of the land, Sen. Landrieu, get over it.

Sucks to be your son, but, there are winners and losers in Socialism, too...it’s for the collective good, right?

Maybe you can get your kid a government job...while you still have one yourself!

The guy seems like a fairly conservative (D), but, he owns this mess along with every senator who voted for it.

Ah, when her position is threatened she's not getting over anything. She's a joke. All of a sudden she cares about people losing their insurance? I don't think so. Now that the mainstream press is getting all over this fiasco it's become very obvious to her that in a year's time she might have to dust off her resume.

Donnelly is a democrat and votes with the democrats. I think he likes to say he's conservative, but actually votes like a liberal.

He was in the House in 2010 and voted for obamacare. Guess he didn't read it before he passed it.

In 2010, the “Dishonorable” Sen. Landrieu had the opportunity to vote for a bill sponsored by Mike Enzi-R that was identical to the one she’s come up with.

Hazard a guess as to how she (and the rest of her suddenly surprised and irate Rat colleagues) voted?
