The insurance provider directed me to the plan I chose. They insured me, charged my credit card... and then a few days later sent me a letter saying the prescriptions wouldn't be covered because they were pre-existing conditions. Ummmm... a couple of the prescriptions are well woman for a 60 year old. A couple she's been taking since her hysterectomy which was 25 years ago. Yep... a hysterectomy is a pre existing condition.
So its not like the insurance companies aren't crooks either. But we just needed common sense legislation. I know... I can go shop it somewhere else. Free market and all that. And I will after I figure out how all of this is gonna spin out.
I agree, there are several things that could’ve/should’ve been done prior to rehauling the entire system. Buying across state lines, tort reform etc..
