The road to subservience to Marxist dictators is always paved with lies. Otherwise no one would travel on it.

It is a little late for the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut (or “Spite Hut”) to be walking back this flat statement (repeated over and over), “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

In practice, that is a lot like Bush-41 saying, “Read my lips. No new taxes.” That was a pledge, that at the end, was not kept.

And now we have another pledge not kept, not only because it was patently impossible when it was made, but because it was so often repeated. Now, there are all sorts of qualifications placed upon that original fabrication, a very legalistic way of “explaining” why there shall be, by early 2014, many more people without any health insurance coverage, than there were when the scheme was first presented

The “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010” has punished and taken insurance away from many more people than the situation as it existed in January 2009. And it only is going to get worse, as more and more options are foreclosed, while the medical profession responds to a reduction in the reimbursements for services provided by either opting out of the network, or leaving the profession altogether.

And how does that help anybody?
