Gov. Chris Christie said today that former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney called him immediately after details of a new book about last year's vice presidential vetting process became public Thursday.

The book also found Christie was on the short-list to be Romney's vice presidential running mate, but that during vetting the former Massachusetts governor's people were "stunned by the garish controversies” lurking in the shadows of his record, which was "littered with potential land mines."
Those obstacles included his decision to steer hefty contracts to donors and political allies, a Justice Department report ripping his spending on travel when he served as U.S. Attorney in New Jersey, as well as "unanswered questions" about a defamation lawsuit from earlier in his political career, a stock fraud investigation involving Christie's brother, his household help, his time as a lobbyist and his medical history.

Does anyone think that the timing on this is designed to inoculate Christie against any bad news from before this point?
I guess when you have been around a while you see political reasons for everything these guys do. No one has been surprised in politics for 50 years.
So, did the Romney camp leak this just before the NJ election in retaliation, perhaps, for Christie’s embrace of Obozo before the 2012 election?
It would’ve served fat boy right. But I have serious doubts as to whether Romney’s people are that clever or that vindictive.
So the pugnacious gov has been in many disputes and fights?

Clearly this is Romney pay back for Christie’s blathering with Obama before the election.
I’m wondering if all that stuff is in Christie’s background as easily found, why haven’t any of his political enemies (people he’s run against, etc.) used this against him?
We do not need RINOs like him and I would love for someone to bring all this out and neutralize him before he does something stupid like running for Prez in 2016.
