Obama to pressure Perry on health care during Texas visit
Politico44 A Living Diary of the Obama Presidency ^ | 11/5/13 | JENNIFER EPSTEIN

President Barack Obama plans to call on Texas Gov. Rick Perry – one of the most prominent Obamacare foes in the country - to follow the lead of a handful of other Republican governors and agree to the expansion of Medicaid in the state as he visits Dallas on Wednesday.

"This isn’t a political issue. This is about making sure people where they live have access to good quality, affordable health care," White House deputy senior adviser for communications and strategy David Simas said Tuesday as he previewed the president's trip.

Obama will ask Perry and the Republican majority in the Texas Legislature to join with fellow Republicans in Arizona, Ohio and Michigan to expand Medicaid. Texas leaders, Simas said, should "put politics aside and not deny people health care out of ideology or politics."

The federal subsidies for states that expand medicare are time limited. When the subsidies end, the states will have to pick up the added costs and raise taxes to do it.

Remember when Clinton was given a military jacket that was too small? Gov. Perry should give Obama a cowboy hat that’s way too large, since Obama is all hat and no cattle!

As for the quality health care, what a joke! People on Medicaid have worse outcomes than people with no insurance at all. Government programs always fail. They can’t even run the VA, what on earth makes people think the government can provide health care for 300 million people?

Yes. Which is why the smart states did not participate.

Zero will just suggest to Texas Universities to do like WVU has, and require health insurance via ZeroCare... Academia will comply... thus enrolling all of the "young, healthies" required to make ZeroCare "look" like it's "working".

Coming soon to a state near you.

If I understand correctly, the website is signing up Medicaid people to the tune of about 20,000 to one payer. Medicaid will be bursting at the seams in about 6 months and the states will eventually be stuck with the bill. If Perry weakens, Texas will be finished withing 3 years, of course along with all the other idiots that took the Medicare bribe.

This pile of money is too much for some pols that have needs now and figure they will be out of office 3-4 years from now anyway. The citizens are doomed either way.

All part of the Dems “Turn Texas Blue” strategy. Get the takers and minorities all riled-up against Perry.

“Obama to pressure Perry”
That sounds like something the doctor tells you in the course of a certain exam; “Okay, your going to feel a little pressure”.
Is that what Obummer has in mind with our governor?

I see additional refining capacity, ease of environmental laws and keystone in Texas’ future.

Then the sellout.

Perry should close down airspace over Texas while Osama’s on his way. LOL. He might just do that.

After all, Obama is such a friend to Texas. There are very few of us who will forget his refusal to provide disaster relief after the awful wildfires a couple of years ago.

And he and Perry are such good friends. /s/

I find it disturbing that Barry0 would make a trip to Texas in November. Especially this November. Just not a good idea, and I’ll be glad when the visit is over.

It was inevitable, as the entire Tea Party has been saying for the last five years. You can't add 40 million poor people to the system without adding a single hospital, doctor, MRI machine as added infrastructure, and then turn around and expect that costs will go down.

Nobody who has ever run even a little micro-business like mine could have entertained such a notion.

No, you have to be an elite living in a suburban bubble or an idiot low-information voter living in the ghetto to ever have thought such a thing could work.

Add forty million new insured with ZERO infrastructure build-out. Increase demand but forget about increasing supply. Yeah, that's just gotta drive down costs.

And now they want to add another 20 million or so illegal immigrants to the roster.

Miserable, bottom-feeding Democract scumbag morons.

As if "health insurance" is the same thing as "healthcare." Hey, Rats, the latter is an actual service, the former is a payment and risk-allocation system for the latter. They're not the same.

What sort of fool could ever have even imagined that they were?
