'Cover-Up' Hospital: Boy's Mum Wants Justice

A mother has demanded "justice" for her son who died at a hospital which could face a police investigation after allegedy falsifying data about cancer patients. Danielle Uren believes four-year-old Mackenzie Cackett, who suffered a brain tumour, could have still been alive had it not been for mistakes in his diagnosis and treatment at Colchester General Hospital, Essex. He allegedly endured a series of lengthy delays and blunders before dying in May last year. Miss Uren, from Halstead in Essex, said: "It has been such a difficult time. We knew there was something wrong but we were ignored and that may have cost our son his life." The hospital's trust has been reported to police after staff complained of a cover-up, alleging they were "pressured or bullied" into falsifying data relating to cancer patients. The hospital has been put into special measures after inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) found evidence that records may have been altered to meet targets on waiting times. Staff told inspectors they were put under pressure to change data relating to patients and their treatment to make it seem like people were being treated in line with national guidelines, a CQC spokesman said. As a result some patients may not have had the treatment they needed in time, he added. The CQC, which contacted police, said of 61 care records examined, 22 showed that people had been "placed at risk of receiving care that was unsafe or not effective, due to delays in receiving appointments or treatment". In some cases people did not get their treatment within the required 62 days, and in three cases delays exceeded 100 days.

Is America ready for Socialized Medicine? These stories are appearing daily in the news from the UK. When you have Government care, no one is held accountable for mistakes. And you don't sue the Government for malpractice (all doctors will be under Government control).Americans have trusted our private medical community to do their best by us. Obamacare will destroy the doctor/patient relationship. Here is what is in store for us: 1 Each will be required to attend whatever clinic is closest to their home. 2 You will take whatever doctor is available at the time you go, after waiting your turn in line. 3 If you do not like or get along with your assigned doctor of the moment, too bad. 4 You can only be seen by a specialist if your doctor of the moment decides you can. 5 Doctors are fined if they send too many patients to specialists. 6 You cannot see a specialist just because you want a second opinion. 7 You cannot 'pay for your own tests'. Each medical test requires a requisition from a physician. If the government says you do not get a mammogram until age 50, that is the law. 8 You will have no control at all over your care.

There are lots more conditions that we will have to live with, those are just the ones I remember off the top of my head from working in the NHS.
