Nation's poor at 49.7M, higher than official rate (Big Lie 1 Trillion & 1)

The number of poor people in America is 3 million higher than the official count, encompassing 1 in 6 residents due to out-of-pocket medical costs and work-related expenses, according to a revised census measure released Wednesday.

The new measure is aimed at providing a fuller picture of poverty, but does not replace the official government numbers. Put in place two years ago by the Obama administration, it generally is considered more reliable by social scientists because it factors in living expenses as well as the effects of government aid, such as food stamps and tax credits.

The number is probably much higher....and the reason is....WELFARE...GOVERNMENT ASSISTED LAZINESS!

Americans are being paid not to work and they are milking the system...very shortly now, less than ten years would be my guess....those who are paying the federal taxes will not be able to support the government any longer as they will be among the needy which is the Grand Plan of all liberals....Big Government Will Take Care of You...and you will of course pay for that privilege.

Obama can tell his bureaucrats to set the official poverty level anyplace he wants. Instantly swelling the ranks of his freebie programs.

Next week his Lib lackies in the Senate will be bringing about a bill that will take 1/3 of every actual workers paycheck to give to a poor family, so that they can have ‘some of what everyone else has’...

Americans need to be poor and made to pay for their history of racism and destruction of the planet.

Is is why liberals care not to fix anything.

Part of that is no doubt true. But it is far more true that here are very few jobs worth taking.

Everybody claims ‘I would work at McDonalds, dig ditches or mow lawns before I would take a handout. BOLOGNA!

When there are no jobs but crap jobs that pay minimum wage, no benefits and no advancement: it is incumbent on the person to take stock of their circumstances and make a rational decision.

We are not talking about generational poverty here, we are talking about the rapid increase of poverty made up by educated and previously employed people and the recent graduates who have no ability to get a job.

The economy is flat on its’ back, fewer people working than when Obama took office and NO MANUFACTURING! Hence, no ability to even get a job in a factory.

I call BS on this whole idea. Those one welfare are living in luxury when compared to any of the world's actual Poor. My family income is considered to be in the Poverty level, however, it is enough to meet all the family needs and almost all of our wants. We have a paid for home and a 30 thousand dollar car. Does that sound like poverty to you! Poverty is not having enough to eat, not that you are 24, lazy and living in you parent's basement. We have so many free food programs it makes ones head spin, Food Stamps, WIC, Commodities, Indian Commodities, Community pantries, Shelter houses, Church outreach to name just a few. Has Welfare and our "fearless leader" created more people who depend on others for their existence, yep, but are these people poverty stricken, poor- no way.

Poor is living in the 3rd and even some 2nd world shanty towns. How many of the US poor have large screen TV’s with cable, vehicles, food stamps, all sorts of free entitlements, decent housing and utilities? Probably most of the 49 million +.

I know there are people that really need help, but it pisses me off to see people in section 8 apartments buying a 12 pack of beer and cigs at 3pm on a workday, and walking home to watch tv off their satellite dish.

All this has been accomplished in less than 5 years. Imagine what he will be able to do to this nation in another five or ten. He has already written the Exec Orders that will allow him to suspend elections for a reason only he gets to determine. Think there will be another election? Think again.

You said a mouthful Brother.

And you are right. The poor in America are the richest poor in the world——and crying about it.

And with the continuing default process (and shrinkage of big government by austerity measures), many middle class Americans will be joining them.

Sorry guys. You are being pranked. Without the gubmit doing zilch, the number of poor people is 46 million. Considering all the poverty programs which tend to take people out of poverty, AND considering all the taxes the low-income people have to pay, the number of poor people is 49 million.

The proper conclusion is that the government is doing more harm than good.

For every person they keep from being poor, they make another person poor, even more than 1-to-1.

Generally, they make the moochers better off, and they make the hard-working joe and jane average worse off.

THE GOVERNMENT IS EFFING IMMORAL, STEALING FROM THOSE WHO WORK TO THE POINT THAT IT IMPOVERISHES THEM, TO GIVE TO THE LAZY GOOD FOR NOTHING BASTARDS THAT VOTE DEMOCRATIC.
