Obama meets with Senate Democrats anxious over health care law
Fox News ^ | November 6, 2013 | Ed Henry & Wes Barrett

Posted on 11/06/2013 6:10:13 PM PST by jazusamo

President Obama on Wednesday sought to assuage anxious Democrats who are worried that ObamaCare’s troubled rollout is going to come back to haunt them during the 2014 midterm elections.

“There’s a lot of pent-up frustration” among Senate Democrats who are facing voters next year, a party source familiar with the meeting told Fox News.

A Democratic source told Fox News’ Ed Henry that some of the senators in the room floated a delay of up to one year in the law’s implementation – an idea the president rejected. The source said, however, that senators left the White House feeling that it was a “constructive meeting.”

The meeting could suggest that momentum is building for Democrats to force changes to the law. A letter circulated in late October among Democratic senators urged the Obama administration to delay enforcement of the health care law’s individual mandate, a recommendation supported by senators Mark Pryor, D-Ark., Mary Landrieu, D-La., Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., Mark Begich, D-Alaska, and Kay Hagan, D-N.C., all of whom were present at Wednesday’s meeting.

Ha...Wouldn’t be at all surprising and I’d bet it was a “constructive meeting” for “The Won.”

I see what's going on here. This is the pity game.

Democrats were “misled”. Just like you Jane and John citizen, we believed that obamacare would work.

Players never stop playing, and the 47% will never stop voting for them.

I left off the sarcasm tag.

Every time a search for information about what ACA provides, the only answers are the routine I quoted,...which basically avoids the question of, “what does Obamacare provide?”

Really, do you think that these folks actually care about the law or their careers? How can I put this:

How about “What a bunch of hypocrites”... Only for the media would they be re-elected!

I have NO pity for any of them. Soiled diapered reid is going to f them along with the worlds best liar mac daddy.

These sock puppets open their months and let mac daddy and reid crap down their throat so that they would utter the dumb-o-crat party line after not even taking the time to read the bill.

Hope they all lose as they deserve whatever come their way.

If the rep’s take over leadership of the senate they move reid’s office back to the sewer where he belongs.

We’re on the same page, I knew you were being sarcastic. Just thought I’d throw a little gas on the fire. I want the Dems to burn.

The members at the meeting were Mark Begich of Alaska, Cory Booker of New Jersey, Chris Coons of Delaware, Dick Durbin of Illinois, Al Franken of Minnesota, Kay Hagan of North Carolina, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Jeff Merkley of Oregon, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Jack Reed of Rhode Island, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Brian Schatz of Hawaii, Mark Udall of Colorado, Tom Udall of New Mexico, Mark Warner of Virginia and Michael Bennet of Colorado, according to Senate aides and the White House…

All senators except for Bennet are up for re-election in 2014; Bennet is the chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

The problem isn’t that Obamacare is failing, it’s that it’s failing too spectacularly and too quickly.

It was designed to fail. Democrats have buyer’s remorse now.

They can suck it.

My guess is that the Dear Leader demonstrated the voter registration tied to Medicaid sign-ups, one aspect of this roll-out that has worked perfectly.

“Guys, most of the people losing their policies are productive citizens and thus not really our target market. By this time next year there will be two new Medicaid enrollees for every one of those whiners, as long as you all don’t screw things up with that one-year delay idea of yours.”

All of these senators and congress members will be tossed.

It is only a matter of time before the Obama ripoff backfires on him.

He will be the first perp-walk President.

Hannity had a great montage tonight of those same rats giving speeches on the Senate floor in 09 and 10 saying everyone gets to keep their doctors and insurance “guaranteed Two I remember was Landruie and Durbin.

I hope that video gets plenty of air time over the next 12 months in their respective States. Beat em like a rented mule with their own Lies!

How do they respond? A) They didn’t know the details because they didn’t care enough to read the legislation or

B) They intentionally lied to fool people.

Mike Enzi told them exactly what would happen at that time. He proposed legislation to stop it and these same rats voted AGAINST IT after debate laying out people losing their Coverage

The Obama administration lied through their teeth to get this bill passed and the Dems in the Senate and House bit on his lies or were part them. This is simple fact.

Today, I am convinced that Obama is going to hold on hard for the next three years....no matter what carnage is wrought on the Democratic Party...or more importantly on the country. Obamacare is his ‘achievement.’ Period!! There will be no compromise, no delay, no fixing, no anything.

Today was a good window into Obama’s political plans for the next three years: hunker down with his most fervent supporters (8th grade drop-outs, the unmotivated, the unaccomplished, the unsuccessful, the angry, the aggrieved, the guilty white people, and the victim class) for the next three years and ride out the political sh-t storm he’s created.

Neither low poll numbers, angry democratic senators, mocking comedians, huge deficits, broken websites, nor angry Americans will move President Obama on this stance. Period.

The only thing that could possibly bring change to this law is a veto proof majority from both houses demanding change. But Obama probably has something on enough of the folks in congress (remember the NSA stuff is in his hands), so that is not even that likely to happen even if the public demands that it happen. In short, we are owned!!

So, absent an unlikely act of congress, it’s full speed ahead with Obamacare.....poll numbers, public opinion, and medical dissaster be damned. Get used to it. It’s our fate for the next three years. Period!!!

Republicans should be out now trying to recruit candidates who are willing to change their affiliation to the democrat party. Leftists need to be challenged in the primaries as well as the general. These representatives were elected (hired) for their judgement. Anybody who voted for this monstrosity has destroyed any claim to good judgement.

Even if only a handful of republican democrats do manage to win the nomination, then an improvement in representation is ensured.
