Re: Dr. Strangelove, 1964, right?

The whole point of the quote... is lost if you don't keep it a secret!

Re: Not dr strange love, Spielbergs 1941. Scene where Hollis Wood is being taken aboard jap sub anchored off CA

You sneaky little batards aren't getting doodly sh!t from me... except maybe my name, rank, and Social Security number: Wood, Hollis P., Lumberjack, Social Security 106-43-2185.

And, DCBryan1... you ain't even close, fella!

Survival kit contents check. In them you'll find: one forty-five caliber automatic; two boxes of ammunition; four days' concentrated emergency rations; one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills; one miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible; one hundred dollars in rubles; one hundred dollars in gold; nine packs of chewing gum; one issue of prophylactics; three lipsticks; three pair of nylon stockings.--

Shoot, a fella' could have a pretty good weekend... in Vegas with all that stuff.

Not dr strange love, Spielbergs 1941. Scene where Hollis Wood is being taken aboard jap sub anchored off CA.

That's five demerit points and you are now required to go rewatch both movies.

Right. What do I know? I lived in the KSA for five years. Nothing WILL go wrong. Nothing moronic about what I said...just your assessment of my statement.

The Bedouin mentality is lazy, but warrior-like, so lazy-warrior. They have no brains. I lived in Bahrain for years and the Bedos are despised there.

I lived in the KSA for five years. Nobody liked the Saudis until they needed money. The Saudis have the majority of the petroleum wealth. Oman ran out of petroleum years ago. Yemen never did have much petroleum. Bahrain had little as well. The wealth was with the Saudis, hands down.
The Gulf Arabs are all still fairly tribal and will handle their affairs the way they always did--through age-old family ties and promises.

I lived there when the Bahraini emir was the one who was BARELY five feet tall. I remember seeing him on T.V. All the Bahraini T.V. was nothing but the emir and his entourage going in and coming out of "conferences." What amused me was that they used a marching version of "You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille." :o) Bahrain was comparably civil.

As for the hatred of the Bedouins... it was envy of their seemingly undeserved wealth. I thought it was a cosmic joke. The rest of the Gulf Arabs held their noses at the poor, stinking Bedu...and God gave those poor, stinkin' Bedu all the money in the world.
I worked with 30 Saudis and got to know them as people. My boss was one of the kindest persons I had ever met.

The no-brains comes from the inter-marriage of first cousins. The Farsis do it too. Keeps the money in the family.

Zuben Mehta was a world class conductor. He boasted of the intermarriage because though it produces morons, every once it a while it produces genius like him...his words.

Thanks for posting. Saudi getting nuclear weapons? Wow! Everyone is assuming that these nukes would be for possible use against Iran. But I have no recollection of Saudi citizens flying planes into Iranian buildings. I do have a very clear recollection of Saudi citizens flying planes into the American world trade center towers.

So folks, don’t be gleeful about the possibility of the Defenders of Mecca getting their eager hands on nukes.

You could've lived in a sheltered Saudi enclave your whole life and still wouldn't garner a clue. Was what you said moronic? Absolutely. You probably are one, too, after all, you couldn't even comprehend what I wrote earlier.

If you're wont to underestimate the Saudis, consider this: Who's doing their bidding, military-wise, and shedding blood and treasure for them?

Here's a hint, if you can handle it:

The Saudis won't operate the nukes they bought from the Pakis. The Pakis will do it for them. The latter are capable of just that, and have proven it before.

Oh, and by the way, I've lived and interacted with the people in the know in the whole region, and beyond. I still visit often.

you mean the Parsis of India, right? Though it’s more for “racial purity” imo than money

2. Though it’s more for “racial purity” imo than money

1. Yes.

2. You might be right. The Indians are amazingly arrogant. When the Brits went there, they were probably amazed at how the Brits "out-snooted" them. Lol, that must have been quite a contest of arrogance.
I worked with Indians for five years (in Saudi Arabia) and visited India for three weeks. I found NOTHING in India to impress me, nothing, not even their poverty.
I do know that we went to the famous Shalimar Gardens in Pakistan, though at the time they were in India. What an enormous disappointment.
We played golf in India. We had our own clubs, as we were living in the middle east at the time and India wasn't so far away.
Whenever we hit the ball, little boys would come out of the bushes and steal our ball then try to sell it to us at the next green. What a pithole the entire country was.

I saw a history channel program on India, with Michael Palin. I had to turn it off as the program waxed poetic about that pit-hole.
I always thought that if people here could SMELL India, they wouldn't even DREAM of visiting it. Lord have mercy.
