Make no mistake about it, this is all about going after the Christian Church. Same-sex marriage, GLAAD's fascist rampages, and all of this Orwellian political correctness is part of long-term goal -- and that's to make Christian beliefs a form of bigotry and to force a left-wing agenda on the church all under a Trojan horse labelled "discrimination."
In many respects, Obama forcing the Catholic Church to violate its conscience with respect to providing birth control and abortion drugs through their social service institutions, is a dry run for this. The left wants to know if they can persuade the American people that a non-existent right (in this case, free birth control) trumps a First Amendment that declaratively restricts the government from impeding on the free exercise of religion.
The obvious next step will be to attempt an end-run around the First Amendment by declaring as bigoted the Church's refusal to marry same-sex couples. They will also attempt to declare as hate speech any belief held by the church that in any way angers GLAAD.
What Ann Curry did to Kirk Cameron this morning is the first phase of that war: The shaming campaign. On national television she brought the actor on to declare his religious beliefs hate speech that will encourage others to "mistreat gay people."
We all know what the next step is, and that's the outlawing of these opinions under the principle that the speaking of such things will cause harm to others.
This, of course, would mean the end to the church -- which is the whole idea.

I’d love to see Kirk ask Ann if she declares Islam hate speech
Ummm, Ann, lets be real here. The only religious people on the planet that actively harm and or persecute gay people are muslims.
You want to really go after the haters, Ann? Go after the muslims the way yo ualways go after Christians. Do it for decades and then you’ll have earned a shred of credibility on the issue.

We say that Christians are not persecuted here. In relation to the horrible physical beatings, torture, and murder that Christians endure around the world, that is true.
But the momentum against believers here has gathered strength greatly the past 20 years.
Can’t stand to listen to ‘er...the soft spoken, “concerned” liberal... a real act.
They don’t want ‘establishment’ of religion, but won’t give the religious the freedom to practice their religion.
The 1st amendment is a weapon of special pleading for the left.
I hope it doesn’t happen, but we may be pleading the 2nd soon.
“This, of course, would mean the end to the church — which is the whole idea.”
No it won’t. It would surely weed out a great many “fairweather Christians”, but the church isn’t going to disappear, even if it has to go underground again.
If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
turn the other cheek
“All this will do is ferret out the pretenders. It will help separate the goats from the sheep”
I never thought of it that way, but I guess you’re right. Is it possible this is one of the reasons God allows the persecution to go on?
I thought that as Christians, we were to hate the sin and love the sinner. That’s not hateful.
I do not understand why the Catholic Church doesn't fight this battle with the very powerful weapons it has.
Why wont they excommunicate the likes of Pelosi & ALL the other promoters of abortion, contraception, & perversion? Why wont they declare these promoters as servants of Satan, unfit for association by good Catholics? Why wont they denounce them in the harshest terms possible? Why wont they call for mass demonstrations & civil disobedience?
If they wont defend their faith with every weapon at their disposal, don't be surprised when it is lost. Catholics & Christians in general are losing this WAR because they refuse to fight.
One thing you must understand that the only “concern” the left has for “gay rights” is using the movement to
CRIMINALIZE CHRISTIAN BELIEF.
For authentic Catholics, that's strong medicine.
