The GOP's job is to their part to get candidates elected, and that means channeling money to campaigns that can win. It turns out Cuccinelli was easily electable, and the GOP either failed to recognize it or chose to leave him twisting because they considered him too conservative. Probably the latter. This loss belongs to the GOPe, its what they wanted.

Reagan found a way to work with the moderates without repudiating his principles. His 11th commandment was common sense. Airing your dirty laundry vis-a-vis senior party figures in public burns bridges and doesn't advance your political career. That's why he never did it. Whether it's Cuccinelli venting or his advisors, they're doing his political future no favors.

If the RNC and the RGA are pulling money on conservative candidates in winnable elections then it is certainly important to "air" the problem.

In addition to his message Reagan had a capable political organization he brought with him from California. He didn't rely on the GOP nearly as much as Cuccinelli was forced to.

That was and will be the only way for a conservative to prevail over the RINOs.

Funny the establishment liberals of the GOP have no problem violating the 11th commandment but that is normal with liberals, as they tell you that you must play by these asinine rules that we have established and of course they are exempt from those very same rules. And when one team plays by the rules and the other has a free hand to do as they please we know what the results will be.

What if anything does Cuccinelli owe the liberals of the GOP? They burned the bridges, not him.
