"Also, if you’d actually do some background (stunning I know), you;d actually see that the Clyde just got a reprieve in a bid to keep Scotland in the UK. Portsmouth (that’s in England) lost out, bringing an end to 500 years of shipbuilding in the city. But its for the greater good of the Union, so a good political decision." This attitude annoys me. Why should the English be taken for granted in order to appease treacherous Scotsmen? Polls suggest that the Scots, despite being opposed to independence, only do so because they believe they would be materially better off within the Union. There is very little sense of common nationhood and shared destiny. I'm getting to the point where I'm not particularly interested in having these people as my compatriots. I don't see why we should suck up to them just because they keep threatening to throw their collective teddys out of the pram and leave the Union if they don't get more sweets than the English. If that is their attitude, they can just f off and go their own way.
