There appears to be one universal problem with Russia’s otherwise excellent equipment. Lack of spare parts. The Russians are typically late on delivery and their equipment spends a lot of time inoperable as a result.

I have frequently been involved in supplying spares to American made equipment. I think the way it gets bought is probably superior. FMS money is funneled through the military here. So, if it’s Army equipment our Army handles the contract. I don’t know how the Russians do it, but according to what I’ve read it doesn’t work well. Procurement in the States, though, appears to work very well.

If the Iraqi govt can keep these operational - they are going to lay waste to the Sunni’s...and then turn on the Kurds...

Why do I have this gut feeling that the $4.3 billion will be covered by US aid to Iraq???
