BARACK OBAMA: THE ‘POVERTY PRESIDENT’
Catholic Vote ^ | November 8, 2013

CHICAGO — Today’s Labor Department report that 720,000 Americans have left the labor force is further proof of President Barack Obama’s total indifference to the sufferings of millions of Americans looking for work, said Brian Burch, President of CatholicVote.org.

Participation in the labor force is now at a 35-year low, according to the Labor Department.

The devastating jobs report comes on the heels of a report Wednesday by the Census Department that the nation’s poor had been underestimated by about 3 million. The report suggested that the true number of Americans living in poverty was actually 49.5 million.

“The news that 720,000 people gave up looking for a job last month is a crushing indictment of President Obama’s indifference to the working-class and low-income Americans. Millions of American families are feeling the squeeze from Obama’s failed economic policies and have given up trying to find a job,” said Burch.

“After five years, it is clear that Obama has no credible economic plan and nothing to offer America’s most vulnerable other than more of the same. With nearly 50 million Americans in poverty, Barack Obama has become the Poverty President,” said Burch.

The swelling number of unemployed has not only resulted in protracted economic hardship for many American families, but it’s also brought immeasurable suffering to people who feel robbed of the dignity that comes from work, Burch said.

“Pope Francis recently said that honest work was essential to a person’s dignity,” said Burch. “That’s why unemployment should never be thought only as a number. We’re talking about real people, neighbors, friends and their families – struggling under today’s economic policies,” said Burch. “Every minute of inaction and gridlock from Washington only causes more pain.”

Visiting the Italian island of Sardinia in late September, Pope Francis spoke to 20,000 workers who had recently lost their jobs. He said: “It’s easy for a priest to come and tell the poor to have courage,” said the Holy Father. But he assured those present he really meant it, and called for dignified work for all. “Where there is no work” said Pope Francis “there is no dignity.”

Said Burch: “For a record number of Americans, there is simply no work, and therefore no dignity. For the sake of our fellow citizens, it’s time we face reality and demand real change.”

The liberals have told us that it’s racist to call Obama the food stamp president.

So, it’s got to be racist to call him the poverty president.

It doesn’t matter if food stamp and public assistance rolls have grown wnile has been president. All that matters is the liberals crying that it’s racist to criticize this president.

This ‘poverty’ has been deliberately imposed on us. It is spirit crushing and life destroying and has come from the highest office in the land to break us in every way imaginable. I say we bend, but refuse to break and the day will come when we turn on those who claim power over us because there bis no power greater than the G-d of ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB.
Hold on to your faith and let no man steal your soul.

Pimps always keep their whores in poverty.

Zer0 is a pimp of the largest order and his whores continue to work for him. They just don’t realize just how bad they are getting f***ed.

Unfortunately, those who have become accustomed to the government handouts are afraid to let go of their “husband.” That’s why the Republican message scares them - they are afraid of losing their “benefits.”

Well the MSM didn't seem too anxious to analyze this, did they.

I'm not willing to give a single iota of credit to the MSM for covering the problems with the Obamacare rollout. As far as I'm concerned they are still working miracles distracting, obfuscating and straight lying to cover for this stumbling bumbling marxist buffoon.

Remember, "poverty" is calculated before food stamps, housing subsidy, Earned Income Tax Credit, etc., etc. Those living in official "poverty" are getting a lot of benefits that aren't considered in the definition of poverty.

Over ten years ago I went through the Statistical Abstract of the United States and added up all the funds, federal and state, going for means-tested income transfer programs. I divided the total by the number of people officially in "poverty." Back then it came out to over $6000 per person for every man, woman and child in "poverty." It's much more now, but I haven't repeated the calculation. Statistically, we've eliminated poverty in this country. If the money going for means-tested income transfer programs actually reached the poor, they'd be living middle-class lives. Instead, much of it goes for administration, academic studies of the poor, and jobs for welfare bureaucrats. In large measure, our so-called poverty programs are nothing but welfare for middle-class bureaucrats.

Having said that, the Pope is right. There is dignity in work, and denying people that dignity is criminal. We need to encourage jobs, not provide transfer payments. Low taxes on employers, fewer regulations, and recognition that jobs come from employers, all would help.

He intends to reduce the Middle class to Poverty.

Poverty President is a good title for him.
