The Boston Globe has a look back at Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz‘s three years as a student at Harvard Law from 1992 to 1995. It turns out largely unremarkable, as Cruz seems to be the exact same person then that he is today. But there were two curious anecdotes worth note.

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Oh Good grief.

So now, he’s disqualified because he wanted to be an actor and got drunk ?

I wanted to be a rock star back-in-the-day, and once had to be sent home in a taxi after a motorcycle party because i was unfit to ride my bike.

Does that mean i am unfit to ever run for public office?

Yep. Still waiting (not) for the Globe's exhaustive review of Stevie "The Shadow" Dunham's Harvard years.

“In high school, he says, he considered dropping out and moving to California to pursue an acting career.

That reminds me of two other former world leaders, one who similarly considered a life in the theater in his youth but chose not to ... and one who did go to Hollywood.

Viva Senator Ted Cruz.

Some jealous Harvard Drama school brat talked him into 151 alcohol and we’re supposed to pretend he’s an alcoholic.

I can wager good money he never got drunk again, just as an aside.

The poor editors at the Boston Globe. It has fallen on them, I am sure, to try and fail. The Crimson too, I imagine.

It is going to be entertaining, in the sense of hoping our country wins this heavy, insidious battle, to watch the entire media, Democratic machine and Republican would-be Grain Alcohol/Moonshine pushers scramble and fall flat like Wile-E C. searching for incriminating events in the good senator’s life.

“Ooh! Somebody’s always helping that [man]!”

Prayers.

They hate Ted Cruz. If this is the worst they can dig up on him, he is in good shape.

I wish Sarah Palin would run for the Senate Seat coming up in Alaska. She could be the firebrand in the Senate while Ted Cruz is President.

“My dream ticket”

President TedCruz
Vice President whom ever will pull in votes for the ticket.

Secretary of Defense Allen West

Secretary of Commerce Herman Cain

Secretary of Energy None. Abolish the group and put it under the Department of commerce.

Secretary of Education Thomas Sowell

Attorney General Senator Lee

Senator Cruz is an enormous threat to those who have not protected and obeyed the United States Constitution and that includes about 75% of our elected...it certainly includes Barry Soetoto, POTUS...John McCain, Chuck Shumer, Reid, Pelosi, etc. The Tea Party remains on the RINO hit list because of their knowledge of and their stand for our Constitution...the left just naturally abhors such loyalty.

You'd need another cold war to have leaders like that now, and - probably - another world war in front of it.

What little we know of Dear Leader Obama includes that he liked his illicit (and illegal) drugs. He loved to get high.

Best to click onto the Globe article.
Surprisingly very good with quotes from past college friends & foes and quotes from Cruz himself.

Dr. Ben Carson is missing from your list.

I would put him as VP I think. Maybe at the top of the ticket with Cruze as VP. You also need to get Bolton back in the game for foreign affairs (UN).

HHS needs to be disbanned.
EPA needs to be eliminated.
Throw out the tax coade and cut the IRS by 85% (100% if Fair Tax implemented COMPLETELY)
......

I heard about this yesterday. They are seeing how low can you go to attack someone who scares them so much.

Glad the globe was so diligent in vetting barry’s college years when he was learning about the 57 states. < /s>
