Our church has a food pantry and we come across too many vets who are in need. I, for one, believe when a vet needs help, we help them.

No one denies that some Vets need assistance, and we all agree we're morally obligated to help.

However, to say that Veterans are three times more likely to need assistance providing for even their most basic needs slanders the entire group. It portrays them as proportionally less competent and able than the general population by a significant margin, and that's just not true. Anyone who's served and/or been around those who've served knows this is not the case.

Gods sake...take the day off from blaming our Vets.

No one is blaming our Veterans. Some of us are defending their honor. You seem to be going along with the "Vets are inherently damaged people" school of thought.

Just because you don’t like what something says does not mean it is not true and, denying the extent of their difficulties is certainly not defending their honor. As an aside, my father served in WWll and my brother is a West Point grad who served until retirement...I honor our troops.
