Dr. Perry Inhofe, the son of Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., has died in a plane crash.

Oklahoma City television station KOCO says a source close to the senator has confirmed his son was on board a plane that crashed near Owasso, Okla., on Sunday.

The plane crashed in a wooded area about five miles north of Tulsa International Airport at 4 p.m., approximately 15 minutes after the pilot reported engine trouble.

Senator recently underwent heart surgery. I think he is 79 and is also seeking reelection.

Prayers

Heartfelt prayers for him and his family. Truly the worst event a parent can face.

The son was a pilot AND instructor....
...reading the description of the crash....it just sounds strange.

I take very little at face value anymore.

Mitsubishi MU-2. Tricky plane, high wingload.

In an emergency they are super tricky.

Clinton tried to kill Inhofe back in the 90’s with a plane “accident”

From New York Times:

“National News Briefs; Senator Lands Airplane After Propeller Falls Off

Senator James M. Inhofe made an emergency landing on Saturday after the propeller of the small airplane he was flying fell off.

Mr. Inhofe, an Oklahoma Republican, was not injured, said his press secretary, Danny Finnerty.

Mr. Inhofe said he had been in the air about 10 minutes when the propeller dropped off.

Mr. Inhofe, who has been a pilot for 41 years, glided for about eight miles before landing at an airport here.

Mr. Finnerty said the F.B.I. had been asked to investigate because ‘’propellers don’t just fly off airplanes every day.’’”

It sounds like the aircraft was a new acquisition. The Mitsubishi is notorious for its disagreeable handling characteristics.

As for being a flight instructor, that doesn't confer any special set of skills on the pilot. No more than does being an orthopedic surgeon protect one from blunt impact trauma.

Very sad story.

I’ve never know a single soul that perished in a plane crash. Heck I don’t know anybody who has ever known of a person that was in a plane crash. These politicians ALL know LOTS of people who died in “plane crashes”. No coincidences here, noooo not at all. How many have the Clinton’s known?......yeah a lot of them, hmmmmm.
