WTVJ reports 59-year-old Fredy Gutierrez asked to speak to Willard Shepard, himself a veteran and a Gulf War fighter pilot. On his way to the police command center Shepard was able to talk to Gutierrez trough a police negotiator.

“I spoke to him in military terms, telling him that the Air Force jets were on the way to provide the Army close air support – a reference to war scenarios where the Army ground troops can no longer fend off an enemy attack,”...

The mainstream media...local and national deserve criticism for their bias.

Once in a while, though, they do something praiseworthy, and we ought to acknowledge that...glad this veteran was around to help another veteran.

It was a veteran that saved the day. Not the MSM.

Good point, generally though, the people in the MSM are leftists who rarely do anything beyond pushing a liberal agenda....this guy may very well be an Obama nut, too. But at least he did something nice here.

My first thought was the liberal media (and liberals in general) loves to paint vets as psychos. My second thought is the guy may or may not have been in Vietnam. I am glad he is all right no matter what the case is.

God bless this reporter. But whoever wrote this piece should be slapped hard, especially for the sentence above. Idiot!
