Breaking: Speaker Boehner Kills Senate Amnesty Bill
Independent Journal Review ^ | On November 13, 2013 | Kyle Becker

Posted on 11/13/2013 12:37:30 PM PST by Lazamataz

peaker John Boehner has halted further talks on the Senate’s immigration package, and has stated that he has “no intention” of going to conference with the Gang of Eight to debate it further. That means amnesty’s not going anywhere in this Congress.

NBC News recently reported:

House Speaker John Boehner says he will not allow any House-passed immigration legislation to be blended with the Senate’s sweeping reform bill, further quashing the chances of comprehensive immigration reform legislation being signed into law anytime soon.

“We have no intention of ever going to conference on the Senate bill,” Boehner told reporters Wednesday.

...

Although amnesty is not off the table in terms of further talks, both formal and informal, House Speaker John Boehner is now on record saying he has no desire to discuss the matter with the Senate. Which means that as far as this Congress is concerned, an amnesty deal is all but dead this year.

Looks like the Republicans might be serious about winning the 2014 elections after all. And the Obama lame duck just got a little lamer.

Looks like the Obamacare debacle is giving Republicans a little more courage.

The Senate had the BRASS EGGS to come up with a 1300 page bill -- AGAIN -- that nobody had read. These people think that will work, AGAIN?

It's too early to tell, but it looks like the Repubs have actually started to look out for themselves and their prospects in 2014 again.

Even Rubio walked away from the gang. A little too late to help him though.

I’m still not opposed to having Boner Primaried out.

Thank you to the Marxist in Chief for the disaster that is Obamacare. You’ve fortified the GOP on all matters unrelated. Enough 2700 page, all-encompassing legislative “reforms” that will never be enforced as per the letter of the law, and, worse, will certainly run afoul of the constitution.

He still must be primaried. The only reason he’s doing this is because we are on him like white on rice. We can’t be fooled by his sudden conservativism.

Can we take his word?

The Senate bill was never sent to the House. If it had been, it would have been sent back (blue-slipped)to the Senate for revision because it contained appropriation and revenue language that must originate in the House.

Yep, Obamacare and the fact that the Obama's approval ratings have dropped into the high 30's in most polls. There is absolutely no political risk in opposing anything Obama supports with public approval that low.

Nah. This is all about winning that primary for his district. After that’s accomplished he’ll sell us out pronto.
