Reid calls special ObamaCare meeting
The Hill ^ | November 13, 2013 | Alexander Bolton

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday will convene a special meeting of the Senate Democratic caucus and senior White Officials to discuss the troubled rollout of ObamaCare.

Reid on Wednesday told reporters he would not answer questions about the hundreds of thousands of insurance policy cancellations or other issues until he has further discussions with the White House.

The Senate leader said President Obama called him Tuesday evening to discuss healthcare and other issues.

Several Democrats have signed onto a proposal sponsored by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) that would force insurance companies to let people keep their health plans if they like them.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) said he would have a better idea of what proposals Democrats will push to improve the new law after the Thursday meeting.

Republicans could scarcely contain their glee over the growing Democratic anxiety.

"Obviously panic has set in on the other side," Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said.

Don’t fix it (it can’t be fixed). They own it. They will be destroyed with it. Don’t help them. They would take all our property and kill us if they could. They are our mortal enemies.

The journalistic lies start in the second sentence. It’s not “hundreds of thousands” losing their policies, it’s millions. A million just yesterday in one state (CA) for one provider (Blue Cross Blue Shield).

The reason companies offer health insurance is as a benefit to make their employees happy. If they stop the benefit, they risk losing their employees to another company who still provides it.

obamacare changes the equation, because plans will be limited by what they must provide and the cost of bureaucratic compliance being so high businesses will find it cheaper to drop the benefit. Losing employees is no longer an issue. We now have a new normal of 7% - 9% unemployment. We do not have a rapidly growing economy and because of the debt and QE we won't for a very long time.

Yep, this so called journalist must have been pained to have to write this article but did his best to slant it for the Rats. The turkey outdid himself with the second to last sentence.

“Good morning everyone! Please be seated. You will notice a sealed manila envelope in front of each of you. Go ahead and open it.” (Sound of tearing paper) “Yes. These are the pictures of the midnight orgy at the last DNC meeting that the NSA kindly pulled from their files. I trust there will be no defections? Good, then the matter is settled.”

The only thing bipartisan these days is how to make the Republicans take the blame for it, whatever "it" is.

And the Republicans willingly participate, if not step up first without waiting to be asked.

I really do not understand why editors or proofreaders are no longer used-they are badly needed. My eyes just navigate to anomalies.

I definitely think companies would drop plans for lower-wage, lower-skilled workers, roughly below the income threshold where they would qualify for subsidies. But I don’t think they’d find it advantageous to do so for middle and higher-income people who would have the options to seek employment from a competitor.
