for some in the McConnell camp, the partnership with the upstart Paul—and his supporters—is a humiliating arrangement, no matter how necessary. “These are people who tuck their shirts into their underwear,” one prominent Kentucky Republican grouses.

An interesting piece. Very telling in many ways.

We tuck our shirts into our underwear? This is what the GOPe thinks of conservatives.

Anyone out there still think we can negotiate with these people?

Well, hello, Mr. Prominent Kentucky Republican. Since it’s my shirt and my underwear, how do you know how it’s tucked in?

P.S. Go $crew yourself.

What's the point of being elected as a Republican if you're going to vote like a Democrat?

Let’s not fall for the politico’s garbage. Just who is the “prominent Kentucky Republican”? They’ve lied before. They want us to crack up. What’s the purpose of the piece? We already know just about everything it says of any substance. The rest is malice, hearsay and gossip.

I agree. For me is is not so much that I get all angry as it steels my resolve and determination to see the end of McConnell.

Absolutely. We need, though, to keep in mind that the GOPe has access to a lot of levers of power. You can’t govern as an island and popular movements peter out. We need to not so much attack the GOPe as co-opt it to our purpose. We’re not going to win over the crony capitalists, but if over the next two decades of GOP control of Congress we reduce spending, why not help our supporters get those contracts?

To me this is a process. Defeat McConnell, then reach out to him, respect him and use his knowledge/resources to our benefit. We don’t need to make enemies, particularly in our own camp.

Have you seen this?

That’s awesome news. We’re winning in the realm of ideas and the intelligencia and MSM can’t defeat that. We need to reach out to conservative minorities and particularly to the Millenials. Capture their hearts and minds and we’ve got a generation over which we can set things right.

I like a simple bill that allows you to unlock the phone you paid for. Plus, we need to make privacy a conservative cause again. If we get the economy going, they’ll let us work on the social side without fussing too much.

We need to market and sell conservatism like Reagan did. Have you ever heard his radio addresses compiled in Reagan in His Own Voice?

The man is brilliant: http://www.amazon.com/Reagan-In-His-Own-Voice/dp/0743509854/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384989716&sr=8-1&keywords=reagan+in+his+own+words

We need a couple dozen of him selling the same theme nationwide.
