What This Morning’s Obamacare Announcement Means
Zero Hedge ^ | 14 November, 2012 | Tyler Durden

President Obama this morning announced that he would be issuing an administrative order—which requires no Congressional review—delaying the implementation of provisions of Obamacare that had led to the cancellation of a million or so insurance policies. This follows on the Administration’s similar delays of the Employer Mandate and the Individual Mandate. According to CNN, this morning’s delay is supposed to “cover millions of people who have had their insurance policies cancelled,” but the fact is that in many states, it won’t even do that—because insurance companies, anticipating the implementation of the new law, long ago decided to cancel these policies. Surprise!—except for the attentive observers who have been warning about this for years. Moreover, many states—including California—which are already going along with Obamacare are already beyond the Administration’s reach, because those insurance policies were cancelled by state agencies. This morning’s delay can’t do anything about that.

What do we need a congress for if the pResident can change laws at will with the stroke of a pen? I would think that every member of congress who believes in our constitution would be up in arms and citing high crimes and misdemeanors. Oh, lost my head for a second. That eliminates all the demoncrats by definition.

I just (30 seconds ago) sent an email to Bob Casey. It said “you voted for it. When are you going to address the people of PA and the USA telling them you lied, knew you lied and be man enough to stand up for your self? “ a couple of other derogatory points also. Probably lose my house tomorrow.

Administrative order, in other words a “dictate”.

When the buffoons on The Hill passed ObamaScam, Rimshot Joe Biden referred to it as a big @!$#ing deal (BFD). Barry’s going to need a heck of a lot bigger bandaid than this one to stop the bleeding. Rimshot might say he’s going to need a big #@!$!ing bandaid.

EXACTLY!!

B-HO (SIXTY DAYS FROM NOW) “Well, if these companies can’t find a way to administer their business by reinstating these policies, I’m as upset as the American people. However, the good news is that there are affordable alternatives on the exchanges...and we’ve accomplished that...uh, er, it was difficult as we all know, but the demand is growing.”

COMPLETE Repeal.

Agreed. Even if it means over a billion tax dollars, and probably much more, were wasted and worse, many people are going to die because of Obama's healthcare disaster. I really feel bad for those folks dealing with not only serious and a deadly illness, but also the shock of having your insurance policy canceled! Can you imagine what millions must be going through?

The best our nation's leaders can do for our healthcare would be to implement tort reform and to unleash the free enterprise system on healthcare costs, by removing as much regulatory red tape as common sense allows and allowing free market geniuses to work their magic.

Bob Casey? The man is totally useless. He probably won't respond.

Just like my congressman, Doyle. When it looked like we might go to war in Syria, I wrote to this lump asking him to vote against any war effort. That was months ago. He finally responded with a form email yesterday. Idiot.

We have con men, incompetents and pompous azzes representing us in Washington.

“Republicans need to just start pressing Repeal. COMPLETE Repeal. Fire all the extra workers and dissolve all he regulations.”

It is too late for even complete repeal to work, alas. The private, individual health insurance market has been DESTROYED. Retroactively ABORTED. It’s too late, baby it’s too late...

Alas. Now it is time for our Baptism in Communism.

Obama tries to quell Dem rebellion ".......[Big SNIP] But here’s the thing: No matter what Dems continue to say — and no matter how hard Republicans try to foment disarray among them — it’s far from clear that any legislative fix can pass and go to the president. As one senior Senate Democratic leadership aide put it candidly to me: ” House Republicans won’t support the Landrieu bill. Upton wouldn’t pass here. So nothing will pass both Houses and get to the president.”

All of which is to say that all of the chips have been placed on Obama’s administrative fix. That’s probably the only fix we’re getting, and the rest of the machinations among Dems are probably going to amount to little more than noise and posturing. Indeed, even Obama’s fix, if insurers don’t play along, is probably not going to be a major factor.

So we’re back where we’ve always been: All that really matters is whether the law works over the long haul, and the fate of Dem lawmakers is heavily bound up in that outcome. Dems should probably just resign themselves to that political reality and do all they can to make the law a success, and to communicate to constituents that patience and a long view are necessary."

After the year is up, then even those that managed to hold on to their plan and/or doctor will be in the same fix. They will have to settle for the “affordable” plan.

If you like your plan, you might be able to keep it (for a year).
