LAREDO - One man from Mexico and another man from Ecuador have been charged with assaulting a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
Mexican National Jose Luis Zavala-Rodrigue, 22, and Johnny Jose Redrovan-Pesantez, 23, of Ecuador are both in custody. Rodriquez is also charged with conspiracy to transport illegal immigrants for financial gain.
Both men are expected to make an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Scott Hacker, Friday.
The agent required medical attention but survived the attack.
Each faces up to 20 years in prison and a possible $250,000 fine. Zavala-Rodriguez further faces an additional 10-year possible sentence on each of the remaining two charges, as well as a $250,000 fine.
The case was investigated by FBI and the Laredo Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Homero Ramirez.

The Border Patrol needs to adopt the old Texas Ranger policy of perps attacking a Ranger not being taken alive.
I thought DHS had a billion rounds of ammo. Why didn’t this border patrol agent expend a couple of hundred on these two illegal thugs. No trial, no expense. I guess Obama has burdened the agents with the same rules of engagement that our troops have. IE...wait till they fire first and make sure there are no women and children nearby.

No. 0 doesn’t do that to protected classes or his own. You have to believe In the Constitution, God, and maariage is only between a man and a woman for that treatment.
Yeah, so you can be arrested and frog marched to prison by an AUSA placating criminal Mexicans.
