Reid Statement On Affordable Care Act
United States Senate Democrats ^ | Nov 14, 2013 | Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

Posted on 11/14/2013 4:51:33 PM PST by mdittmar

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s fix to the Affordable Care Act:

“Today we saw a clear contrast: Democrats are working to fix and improve the Affordable Care Act, while Republicans still want to go back to the days when insurance companies could deny people coverage for pre-existing conditions, treat being a woman as a pre-existing condition, and watch health care costs drive families into bankruptcy. The fix proposed by President Obama today is an important step towards addressing a problem that has arisen and if we need to do more, we will.

“Republicans should stop listening to the extremist voices in their party who only want to repeal the benefits of the Affordable Care Act. Whenever Republicans decide to stop rooting for failure, roll up their sleeves and get to work, we stand ready and willing to work with them and find common ground.”

Gotta hand it to Hairy Roid. At least he was smart enough to skip taking the smugwalk with Nancy.

It is the poor judgement and bad decisions of Democrats that wrote the bill, Harry...

Harry Reid is another co-conspirator like Nancy Pelosi that will sing this tune right up to the hangman’s noose.

As I recall, republicans were shut out of most of the planning on this bill.

“treat being a woman as a pre-existing condition”

Another cowardly lie by Harry Roid.

a) Insurance companies run their business using statistics

b) Fair insurance rates make the high-users of medical care pay more. It’s all statistics.

It’s well-documented that women used medical services FAR MORE than men and thus it is predictable that a woman is more likely to cost “the pool” of insured people more money.

Since Harry Roid doesn’t understand the private sector, he doesn’t get this.

What a petulant naive child he is.

Dear Harry,

We never boarded the Titanic so why should we (how would we?) plug the gaping gash in it after it hit the ice berg we repeatedly warned you about?

Poor old Harry simply needs the new full mental health coverage included in Obamascare.

No-one has read it all yet - so maybe there is some coverage in dealing with pedophilia included in there he may need also. ;)

i know it’s hyperbole but seriously what insurance plan treats women as if they havea pre-existing condition if they don’t reallyhave one?

if it’s different rates for different procedure coverages between men and women, then harry, you better start bitching about car insurance and life insurance screwing guys foir being guys.

To: mdittmar; a fool in paradise

The metaphysical question is, are “pre-existing” conditions “pre-owned” “pro-actively”?

Whenever Republicans decide to stop rooting for failure, roll up their sleeves and get to work, we stand ready and willing to work with them and find common ground

But when the law was being debated, they refused to include Republicans nor their ideas into the discussion. They were excluded completely. But now they want to have the republicans work with them fixing a democrat disaster.
