Roll Call ^ | 11/15/2013 | Emma Dumain

The House easily passed Republican legislation on Friday allowing insurers to keep offering old insurance plans for another year in response to President Barack Obama’s broken “if you like it, you can keep it” promise.

Perhaps, but that depends on a number of things, including how good their opponent is at campaigning, and how this all goes down…..

The obvious solution is very painful for all:

1.) Abolish and destroy all of Obamacare, the IRS data files and all ancillary parts of Obamacare.

2.) Pass a Congressional Law with a veto-proof majority that stipulates that it shall forever be illegal for the US Federal Government to ever again legalize mandatory purchase of any insurance product related to the medical or health insurance industry.

3.) Appoint by Congress ONLY a top Private Insurance Executive to work with Congress to legislatively restore the excellent US Medical System that will soon be freed from Medicare, Medicaid, and other Federal entanglements.

4.) In return for the Liberals, RINOs and other supporters of Infinite National Debt agreeing to the above termination of Obamacare, Medicare and Medicaid, the Conservatives would agree, when ALL Federal Laws have been passed, to approve the US Federal Government to absorb the cost of the damage done to the cancelled policy holders by the Obama Socialized Health Insurance Tax.

All the major media will support them: broadcast, print, cable, etc.

We already know that.

I think this was a mistake. I think Cruz was on the right track with bringing repeal up again.

Why wouldn’t they just vote for total repeal and also get rid of Fed regulations that prohibit insurance companies from competing nationally instead of just by states. This also does nothing to axe the opt out egregious IRS penalty fees to hit Americans.

GOP can take credit for passing the first bi-partisan HC legislation of the Obama era......

...... Well ..... Unfortunately this is a bad strategic move on behalf of the GOP .... As mentioned in a previous post ..... After the bill is vetoed .... the Senate will NOT blow this thing off. They actually have their own plan for this waiting in the wings which was written by Mary Landrieu. It should be noted that Fred Upton has said he supports Landrieu's bill. Reid will throw out Upton’s bill and substitute the Senate version with Landrieu's bill which the House will then be pressured to approve. Using the past performance by the GOP during the course of this administration .... they will end up supporting it after a short fight.

.... In short .... All this does is pull the Dems’ butts out of the fire with the help of the Republican's until after the mid-term elections.

... The GOP has stepped in it once again. They have been played like a fiddle.

“Ted Cruz. Let’s see the plan.”

It’ll be brilliant, with every “t” crossed and “i” dotted.

I hear you, I hear you...

I’m hoping [don’t laugh] that this Obamacare screw-up is so epic that it significantly damages the Dem/ MSM standard strategy for the foreseeable future.

OTOH, I also think it’s possible that all of this “chaos” has been triggered according to an administration plan.

Again, it hasn’t happened in a while, but I’d like to hope.

How come we can see this clear as a bell but those idiots in DC continue to play small ball. Bases loaded, nobody out and they bunt. Wimpy politicians are no heroes, PERIOD.

Since Upton sponsored it, I’d like to add an amendment: If you like your light bulb, you can keep it.

Post of the thread, if not Post of the Day.

The two are not mutually exclusive, but you are missing one thing: maybe due to years of losing: this is called OBAMA CARE. This will haunt all Democrats in 2014.

______________

I disagree...the GOP can’t lose either way....if they pass Landrieu’s bill, the cancellations will begin again, right before the 2014 election. Moreover, Obama and Reid are on record against Landrieu’s bill....this will not end well for the democrats...

“Let these people do without their health care. Let Obama wallow in his own stew.”

If you were one of “these people” whose insurance got cancelled and you can’t afford a double in price with a higher deductible, you would want to go back to your old policy, too, as these people need to do.

I don’t have this problem, but younger people, less than 65, do.

If it passes the Senate (doubtful), Obama will just veto it anyway.

It means nothing.

“Why are these idiot “Republicans” trying to save this train wreck?”

They’re not. Their bill would gut obamacare should it pass and also save thousands of lives of people who are going to soon die because they’ve lost their health insurance. It also puts the Killer Kommies on record who voted against it come 11/2014.
