Surely the insurance companies know that they will make a lot of money, but, as the need keeps coming up to raise rates, which they will rise fast, Obama and the dems will demonize those companies 24/7 as the reason. The call will be to get rid of them because the people can’t pay those rates anymore, in favor of single payer.

Just a matter of time.

I can see that. Could be, they are quiet now because under Obamacare the rates are going up. I don't see a down side for the insurance companies until single payer takes over which is the end game. What happens to insurance companies when that happens?
