Does the health-care fumble mean game over for Obama? (has he lost Milbank and WaPo?)
WaPo ^ | 11/15/2013 | Dana Milbank

Posted on 11/16/2013 6:54:27 AM PST by RoosterRedux

“There are going to be ups and downs during the course of my presidency,” Obama said. “I think I said early on when I was running, I am not a perfect man and I will not be a perfect president.”

He didn’t seem to consider that this may not be part of the usual ups and downs. And though he deserves credit for his apologies — seven times during his news conference, he said the problems with Obamacare are “on us” or “on me” — it’s not likely that the public’s loss of trust will be repaired no matter how often or how genuinely he says “my bad.”

Even as he accepted responsibility for the debacle, he couldn’t resist transferring some blame to the assembled press (“the things that go right, you guys aren’t going to write about”) and to Republicans (“repeal, repeal, let’s get rid of this thing”).

But Obama seemed genuinely puzzled by the notion that his leadership may have been the cause. He dismissed a question about whether his administration may be too insular (“I meet with an awful lot of folks”).

And, he said, “when I do some Monday-morning quarterbacking on myself,” he concludes that maybe he should have been “breaking the mold” with the rollout earlier because “the federal government has not been good at this stuff in the past.”

Wait a minute: Monday-morning quarterbacking? Maybe the president does understand that the game is over.

“Maybe the president does understand that the game is over.”

Very telling.

No, he has not lost the radical left. They will happily don their Nina Burleigh knee pads as soon as they can claim this aca mess is a thing of the past. And they are desperately looking for a way to write that story.

Unfortunately, the Hope and CHange fantasy died at least two years too late.

If you want a good Saturday morning laugh go read the comments on the WaPo site. You have delusional Dems saying crazy things like Bush and the Republicans in congress are responsible for the president’s troubles and that Millbank should join FOX news for being a traitor. I love it. The libs are cracking up and even the strongest kool-aid can’t deny the reality that is setting in on them that big government is a failure.

Once again, millions of people’s lives have been unalterably disrupted because of this arrogant, ignorant, unaccomplished a$$ clown dictator wannabe, and the libtard media’s only concern is how it effects the a$$ clown.

No, he didn't really apologize.

He didn't say "I misled". He basically said he was sorry people misinterpreted what he said.

“There are going to be ups and downs during the course of my presidency . . . I am not a perfect man and I will not be a perfect president.”

That is the longest Obama quote I have ever seen that is nearly true. It would be completely true if he dropped two words: “There are going to be ups and downs during the course of my presidency . . . I am not a perfect man and I will not be a perfect president.”

His ego won’t allow him to accept defeat. His handlers feed his ego and keep negative press away. The moment someone, anyone mentions “impeach” or the like, they’ll be “racists” and their career and families destroyed.

Doesn’t matter, Obama has lost many many many independents, and LIV’s. He’s lost a lot of his base, it doesn’t really matter at this point that there is a very small minority of radical left. This whole debacle has taken a lot of voters away from the DNC. We just have to keep the heat on, just for one more year. We can get him impeached once we take the senate, there is also a massive revelation brewing regarding the origin of Obama and the birth certificate. I don’t know much but I’m assuming we’ll soon find out who groomed Obama, who backed him, and what they did it for. It won’t be pretty, it will be something no one could have fathomed.

Obama is THE Manchurian President.

We have seen this before. After the flubbed response to Katrina in 2005

Milbank and others continue to spread the lie.

Bush had the Federal Gov't in New Orleans within three days which is plenty fast enough. It was Blanco who barred Bush from taking action earlier. She was afraid Bush's rescue efforts would outshine her own and, indeed, that proved to be the case. So the media invented the lie that Blanco was lily-white and it was Bush who screwed up.

The people in LA knew who was responsible, though, and they booted Blanco and elected a Repub. That would never have happened in a million years if what Milbank and and his ilk were telling the truth.

This game is not over. I'm not saying it shouldn't be over.... but we have to understand..... we're headed for socialized health care. Its gonna happen. Government is going to control everything.... that's even in the bible. Where we have to land is a spot that benefits us as much as possible. That's the bottom line.

Me... I'm in favor of lowering medicare to age 50. :) Let the young liberals have obamacare and all the birth control they want.... and give me medicare now. Now that's a compromise I'd vote for. :)

they are desperately looking for a way to write that story

Even now the NYT casts the health takeover collapse as in part due to the vile, hate-filled opposition of the Tea Party Right Wing. "Opposed at every turn in seeking a fix, Saint Obama was left with no alternative..."

The rest of the press, with a few exceptions, are pining helplessly for any reason to help come to Obama's aid.

If they can ever see an opening in the battle, they will attack us with a fervor beyond anything in the past. After all, we have nearly overturned the Emperor of Con.

People will most likely die solely because of his arrogant lying for his end justifies the means fundamental transformation of a country most of us work hard for and in.

After Behgnazi how can anyone, even liberals, be surprised at his care less attitude toward life, death and the truth?

The only thing this robot is sorry about is that he has to take flak. I saw his body language walking to the podium for this press conference and it was pure pissed off a-hole punk.

Dana Milbank is going to get a phone call from President Jarret and do a mea culpa that he was hasty in his analysis...

What he thought was "game over" is actually halftime...

All this means is that Team Clinton is on the march.

Bill has figured out that Hillary can't be elected as Obama's successor, so they are going to plead, "This mess had nothing to do with us", and to do that, they have to signal the jour-o-list community that telling the truth is now OK.

“Game over” that is what politicians think about ...it is all JUST a game...and it is what so many stupid voters think too.
