The race card is a joke at this point, and frankly, diminishes the true suffering of those minorities who have been victims of racism. Further, it diminishes the true achievements of those minorities who have worked their tails off to be successful. Truth be told, the most vile, malicious, and disgusting racism I've seen in recent years in the US has been by the left and by leftist blacks against those blacks and other minorities who dare to think differently than the Oprah Winfreys and Barack Obamas of the world. Look what they are trying to do to Dr. Ben Carson. Look at the hatred they've spewed towards Supreme Court Justice Thomas. Look at what they do to any conservative black politician.
“Just like all of the disrespect that the left heaped upon President Bush is because he was black.”
Remember the chimp photo-montages? The constant use of the term “shrub”?
While I thought some of that was ill-conceived I do think any American president has to be considered a fair target for any expression of opposition short of threats of physical violence.
I also have no recollection of anyone connected with the Bush administration implying that First Amendment rights should be limited when it comes to criticizing the president.
