The more the merrier! I don't have a problem with this. Provided, of course, that

• The DoD gets to build similar monitoring stations for US GPS in Russia.
• The Russian system is as open to random users as the US system. IOW, when you sync your Garmin, Russian satellites should appear alongside US. Once again, the more the merrier — solving simultaneous equations gets better the more inputs there are.

Then there is Galileo, which is the Eurotwit effort. I would apply the same conditions to them (and expect the same from the Rooskies).

USAF operates some 20 similar stations in Russia for a decade and counting.
Russian system is as open as GPS, and it is supported by a lot of modern gadgets. Iphone, Samsung Galaxy Note, Nokia and Motorola phones etc.
