I think Robin will be Batwoman as soon as he finished his sex change.
I see they had a couple of Batman characters; the Riddler, the Penquin, a Police Commisioner. Guess what other major enemy of Batman is missing; The Joker. Why? I think a certain shooting gallery event in a Colorado theatre from June of 2012 is the answer. For the time being, The Joker is too closely associated with extreme mayhem and bloodshed, not at all funny. This impulse will pass over time, but it’s too soon right now.
Not to worry, he’ll be re-elected and re-elected and re-elected.
This story probably provided SF with more positive publicity than it’s seen since Tony Bennett cut “I left my heart...” 50+ years ago. What’s happened to that city is nothing short of a crying shame. Mar personifies the decline.
This is the same city that once had Jim Jones on their City Council.
“I think Robin will be Batwoman as soon as he finished his sex change.”
You mean he has been waiting for Obamacare all this time?
I guess masked crime fighter doesn’t pay that well. And you
know that tight wad Batman wasn’t going to spring for it.
Or getting in a drunken stupor and smoking crack...
Eric Mar is my supervisor and to me his comment is so highly illustrative of the liberal mindset. Liberals must always dwell in the land of the glass half empty. There is no joy in their lives. When I first moved to San Francisco, it was a very creative, joyful community. Now it is a dour, politically-correct neo-Soviet Style enclave. What was so great about Batkid was that for a brief time, the “old” San Francisco of my youth had returned. No money was spent on this exercise because so many people volunteered goods and services. Compare and contrast Eric Mar’s silence when Obama rolls into his/my neighborhood to vacuum up campaign contributions from Sea Cliff. The security people are really nasty, harass all the small businesses en route, all that police overtime, etc. Eric doesn’t utter a peep about starving children then.
Frankly, I have never walked down a single street in San Francisco and said, “Gee, that kid is skin and bones. Let’s feed him.” Obesity is the problem here.

...the article says Make a Wish is going to pay the city back.
Ah, well. At least Arkham City turned into Gotham City...even if just for one day.
