Adultery is the foundation of all sin
I could take it there and probably make a case for it, but I think Satan's sin was pride, a narcissistic placing of self above God.

But God accused Israel of committing adultery with other gods. That was always their greatest sin.
In the NT, they would commit adultery with “The Law”. They came to worship themselves.
